행복감을 키우는 색채체험 조형 활동 (Color Experience Art Activity that Improves Sense of Happiness)

초록

이 연구는 한국 어린이․청소년의 행복지수가 수년째 최하위를 기록하고 있는 현상에 착목하여 그 주요원인을 고찰하고, 학교현장에서 어린이의 행복감을 키우는 미술교육 해법모색의 하나로서 색채체험에기초한 조형 활동을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 그 과정에서 2013년 행복지수조사내용을 토대로 한국 어린이․청소년의 행복의 요소들과 그 반대적 요소들을 고찰하였다. 또한, 예비교사들을 대상으로 한행복관련 설문조사 분석결과, “행복교육”의 주요원리를 다음의 네 가지로 제시하였다. 1) 학생들 내면의 두려움을 없애기, 2) 자신감과 자존감을 키워주기, 3) 자유로운 존재로서, 자신의 삶은 연속적으로 새롭게 창조해가는 과정임을 깨닫게 하기, 4) 모든 수업은 즐겁고 행복한 생명력 강화의 과정임을 인식하고 실천하기. 이러한 관점에서, 지난 수년간 연구자가 독자적으로 수업에 적용해 온 습식수채화를 활용한 색채체험활동사례를 단계적으로 소개함으로서 미술교육을 통한 “행복교육”, 즉, ‘행복감을 키우는 색채체험 조형 활동’의 실천가능성을 제시하였다. 이 수업사례를 통해 “행복교육”의 가장 중요한요소는 두려움이나 불안, 부정적인 생각을 떨쳐버린 사랑이 넘치는 수업환경임을 입증하였다. 그리고 이것은 미술시간에 학생들에게 자유로운 표현 활동, 즉, ‘윤곽선이 없는 습식수채화를 통한 자유 심상표현활동으로 실현될 수 있음을 제시하였다.

영어초록

Having views on the phenomenon that happiness index of Korean children․teenagers has been ranked thelowest for several years, this study aims to consider a primary cause of the foregoing and suggest aformative activity based on the color experience as part of finding solutions to improve children’s sense ofhappiness at schools. In the course of the aforementioned, this study looked into the elements of Koreanchildren․teenagers’ happiness and the opposite factors on the basis of the contents of happiness index survey2013. This study also suggested following four major principles of “education for happiness” based on theresult of happiness-related survey targeting preliminary teachers in their 20s(students attending university ofeducation). 1) Removing students’ inner fear, 2) improving confidence and dignity, 3) enabling students torealize that one’s life is a process of creating new things consecutively as a free existence and 4) realizingand practicing that all classes are the process to strengthen pleasant and happy vitality. Furthermore, thisstudy proposed practical possibility of “education for happiness” through arts education by introducing someexamples of ‘color experience art activity that improves sense of happiness’ which has been practiced inclasses for years from such a point of view. As this study proven in the aforementioned survey, such anexample of class shows that the most important element of “education for happiness” is a classroomenvironment filled with love that banished fear, anxiety and negative thoughts. And this is directly connectedto free expressive activities given to students in arts class. Finally, erstwhile school fields should changegreatly to practice such “education for happiness”. If we truly want to practice good education that bothstudents and teachers become happy together, the educational circles of Korea must provide administrativesupport in an active way to enable students to reduce miscellaneous work and numerous events drasticallyand teachers and students to focus on classes faithfully.
