장서각 소장 의궤의 현황과 기록유산의 가치 (General Review of Uigwe(儀軌:National/Royal Protocols of Joseon Dynasty) Collected in Jangseogak and Its Value As a Documentary Heritage)

초록

藏書閣은 341종 503책의 儀軌를 소장하고 있다. 이 의궤들은 赤裳山史庫, 宗廟署, 社稷署, 禮曹 등 다양한 소장처에서 이관 받은 것으로 의미가 남다르다. 이중 유일본 의궤는 稿本 의궤 8종 13책을 포함하여 모두 39종 56책이다. 어람용 의궤는 25종 39책인데, 일제강점기 자료가 다수를 차지한다. 장서각 소장 의궤는 몇 가지 점에서 기록유산으로서 가치를 지닌다. 첫째, 조선시대 의궤의 粧䌙을 살필 수 있다. 대부분의 적상산사고 의궤가 일제강점기에 改粧되었지만, 종묘서, 예조 등에 분상되었던 의궤는 원래 표장을 유지하고 있다. 둘째, 장서각에는 최종단계의 의궤를 제작하기에 앞서 만든 고본 의궤 11종 21책이 소장되어 있다. 이 자료는 조선시대와 일제강점기에 나타나는 의궤 제작방식의 차이와 시대성을 보여 준다는 점에서 주목된다. 셋째, 적상산사고에 봉안하기 위해 제작한 의궤가 존재한다. 통상 의궤는 4~9건을 제작하여 분상하는 것이 일반적인데, 영조 연간에 제작된 璿源系譜紀略修正儀軌에서 江華府史庫, 赤裳山史庫 등 특정한 곳에 분상하기 위한 의궤가 발견된다. 동일한 시기 동일한 의례에 따른 의궤임에도 내제와 기술방식에 차이가 있다. 조선시대 다양한 의례만큼 의궤의 성격과 형식적 특징도 다양하다. 이 자료를 정리함에 있어 몇 가지 주목해야 하는 것이 있다. 첫째, 내제에 ‘都廳’이 들어간 제목은 의궤의 전체 내제로 삼기에 적절하지 않다. 일반적으로 의궤는 道廳儀軌, 三房儀軌(一房, 二房, 三房), 造成廳儀軌 등을 각기 만든 후 합편하여 제작한다. 따라서 도청이 들어간 內題는 전체 의궤의 일부에 해당하는 제목이다. 둘째, 일반적인 서적과 달리 의궤는 卷首 부분이 별책을 이루는 것이 있다. 進饌儀軌, 進宴儀軌, 整理儀軌 등에서는 擇日, 座目, 圖式이 수록된 권수 부분의 분량이 많아 책을 이룬다. 이에 대해서는 일반적인 서적과 달리 권수를 별도의 卷으로 취급하여 다루는 것이 타당하다. 셋째 장서각 소장 의궤에는 다양한 官印이 찍혀 있다. 奉使之印, 一品奉使之印, 二品奉使之印, 禮曹之章, 長生殿都提調之印, 戶曹之印, 宗簿寺 등의 관인이 찍혀 있다. 이 관인들은 마모되어 정확한 판독이 어렵지만, 의례의 운영과 의궤의 편찬을 주도한 都監의 位階를 보여준다는 점에서 의미가 크다.

영어초록

Uigwe being preserved in Jangseogak has a collection of 503 books in 341different kinds. These Uigwes were transferred by various libraries such as Jeoksangsan-sago, Jongmyo-seo, Sajik-seo, jeyo, etc, which has a special meaning. Among these, the only example of Uigwe represents 56 books in 39different kinds including Gobon (secondhand book)-uigwe with 13 books in 8 different kinds. Eoram-yong (for king’s reading) Uigwe has 39 books in 25different kinds and most of those materials originate from the Japanese Ruling Era.
Uigwe being preserved in Jangseogak has its value at some point as a documentary heritage. First, the Uigwe allows us to look at the bookbinding of Uigwe in the Joseon Dynasty. Most of Jeoksangsan-sago Uigwes were open during the Japanese Ruling Era, but Uigwes transferred to Jongmyoseo,yejo, etc keep the original emblem. Second, Jangseogak has a collection of 21 Gobon-uigwes in 11 different kinds before reaching the final stage of Uigwe manufacture. This material is noteworthy in that it shows the difference in Uigwe production method and the phase of the times between Joseon Dynasty and the Japanese Ruling Era. Third, there is Uigwe made to be enshrined in Jeoksangsan-sago. It is common that 4~9 Uigwes were made to be separately divided, but Uigwes to be transferred at particular places such as Ganghwabu-sago, Jeoksangsan-sago, etc from Seonwon-gyebo-giryaksujeong Uigwe (its primary additional writing is about investiture and the birth of crown prince and the eldest son of the crown prince) manufactured during the years of Yeongjo were also discovered. There are differences in the front page and description method, although those Uigwes were made at the same period according to the same rituals.
The characteristics and features of Uigwe is as varied as the rituals in the Joseon Dynasty. There is something to be noteworthy in summarizing these materials. First, the title of ‘Docheong’ in the front title page is not appropriate to be used for the whole title page of Uigwe. In general, Uigwes are made by combining what was made separately: Docheong-uigwe, Sambang-uigwe [Ilbang, Yibang, Sambang], and Joseongcheong-uigwe. Therefore the front title page that contains Docheong indicates that it is a part of the entire Uigwe.
Second, the part of ‘the number of volumes’ is separately bound unlike the typical books. In Jinchan-uigwe, Jinyeon-uigwe, Jeongli-uigwe, etc, the part of ‘the number of volumes’ that contains Taekil (picking a date), jwamok (order of position list), dosik is a large volume, constituting a book. In relation to this,it may be appropriate to treat the number of volumes as a separate ‘number of volumes’ unlike the ordinary books. Third, Uigwe preserved in Jangseogak has various official seals. Official seals such as Bongsa-jiin, Ilpumbongsa-jiin,ipumbongsa-jiin, yejo-jijang, jangsaengjeon-dojejo-jiin, hojo-jiin, jongbusi, etc are stamped. Those official seals are worn down and it’s difficult to read, but it is significant in that it shows the hierarchy of dogam (government office in Joseon Dynasty) which operated rituals and led the compilation of Uigwe.
