장서각소장 왕실보첩류의 종류와 현황 (The Present Situation of Possession of a Collection of Royal Family Genealogies and It Sorts in Jangseogak)

초록

본고는 대표적인 왕실보첩 소장처인 장서각의 왕실보첩 소장현황과 그 종류를 알아보기 위하여 작성되었다.
장서각에 소장된 왕실보첩류는 약 822종에 5,280책 이다. 장서각 소장 왕실보첩의 종류는 『璿源錄』, 『宗親錄』, 『類附錄』, 『宗親錄類附錄合本』, 『當代璿源錄』, 『璿源加現錄』, 『宗親加現錄』, 『類附加現錄』, 『宗親錄類附加現錄合本』, 『璿源加現十代錄』, 『璿源系譜記略』, 『敦寧譜牒』, 『御牒』, 『列聖王妃世譜』, 『列聖八高祖圖』, 『璿源續譜』 등 약 등 20여 종에 이른다.
이러한 왕실보첩은 왕실구성원을 중심으로하는 조선사회의 핵심 지배층을 연구하는데 필요한 기본 자료이다. 그리고 왕실구성원과 혼인관계를 통한 상층 지배신분층의 인적네트워크를 알 수 있다는 점에서 조선사회를 이해하는데 중요하다. 또한 사가족보와 편찬방식이 다르다는 점에서 족보사적으로도 중요하다.
왕실보첩의 몇가지 특징은 다음과 같다.
첫째 왕실보첩은 사가족보가 세보世譜인데, 비하여 왕친보王親譜이다.
둘째 사가족보에서는 시조이하 모든 자손들을 적서에 관계없이 수록 수록하지만, 왕실보첩에서는 왕실의 직계는 『璿源錄』에 대군(大君)과 군(君)의 자손은 『宗親錄』에 공주와 옹주의 자손 및 서얼(庶孼)은 『類附錄』이라 하여 각각 별보로 작성한다.
셋째 왕실보첩은 왕실의 친인적을 파악하기 위한 족보이어서 사가족보에 비하여 수록되는 인물의 전기사항을 매우 소략하게 기술하였다.
넷째 『선원록』이나 『유부록』에는 여성의 이름과 출생년, 첩녀妾女인 경우에는 모母의 신분과 성명이 기록되어 있다. 특히 딸이 후취로 혼인한 사실, 첩녀가 다시 양반의 첩으로 시집간 사실이 기록된 유일한 족보이다. 초취와 후취가 있을 경우 자녀의 모母가 누구인지 기록하였다. 이런 점에서 왕실보첩은 조선전기 여성사연구의 중요한 자료이다.
다섯째 왕실보첩은 사가족보의 전범이 된 것으로 보인다.
여섯째 왕실보첩은 대부분 필사본으로 소수만 간사된 유일본이라 할 수 있다.
일곱째 사가족보가 문중 중심의 사찬이었던 반하여 왕실보첩은 종부시 등에서 편찬한 관찬자료로 신뢰성이 높다.

영어초록

The aim of this writing is to look into the present situation of possession of a collection of royal family genealogies and it sorts in Jangseogak which is the representative place of possession of royal family genealogy.
The royal family genealogy possessed by Jangeogak consists of 5,280 books in about 822 sorts. The sorts of the royal family genealogies are roughly estimated at about 20 including 'Seonwonrok'『璿源錄』, 'Jongchinrok'『宗親錄』, 'Ryuburok'『類附錄』, 'Jongchinrokryuburokhapbon'『宗親錄類附錄合本』, 'Dangdaeseonwonrok'『當代璿源錄』, 'Seonwongahyeonrok'『璿源加現錄』, 'Jongchigahyeonrok'『宗親加現錄』, 'Ryubugahyeonrok'『類附加現錄』, 'Jongchinrokryubugahyeonrokhapbon'『宗親錄類附加現錄合本』, 'Seonwongahyeonsipdaerok'『璿源加現十代錄』, 'Seonwongyebogirayak'『璿源系譜記略』, 'Donnyeonggyecheop'『敦寧譜牒』, 'Eocheop'『御牒』, 'Yeolseongwwangbisegi'『列聖王妃世譜』, 'Yeolseongpalgojodo'『列聖八高祖圖』, 'Seonwondokbo'『璿源續譜』, etc.
Such a royal family genealogy is the basic data needed for researching the key establishment in Joseon society with royal family members in the center.
In addition, the royal family genealogy is vital to the understanding of Joseon society in that it enables us to grasp the human network of the ruling upper classes through the ties of in-laws with the royal family members; in addition, it is also very important as a genealogical history in that it's different from the historian-compiled genealogy in its compiling method.
Some characteristics of the royal family genealogy are as follows:First, the royal family genealogy is the one for king's clansmen whereas the historian-compiled genealogy is for one family's direct generations.
Second, the historian-compiled genealogy includes all descendants starting from their progenitor regardless of legitimate or illegitimate descendants, but the royal family genealogy was recorded in the extra genealogy individually; for example, the direct line of descent was recorded in Seonwonrok『璿源錄』; the descendants of 'Daegun' and 'Gun' were recorded in 'Jongchinrok' and the descendants and children of a princess and king's concubine were recorded in 'Yuburok.'Third, the royal family genealogy is the one for grasping its relatives, so the biographical matters of the recorded persons were briefly described comparing to the historian-compiled genealogy.
Fourth, 'Seonwonrok'『璿源錄』 or Ryuburok『類附錄』 included a woman's name and birth date and the mother's status and name in case of a concubine's daughter. Particularly, 'Seonwonrok' and 'Ryuburok' are the only genealogies including the fact of a daughter's marriage as one's second wife, and the fact of a marriage of a concubine's daughter to yangban. In addition, it recorded who was children's mother in case a person had the first concubine and second concubine. In this respect, the royal family genealogy is an important material for the research on women's history in the early days of Joseon Dynasty.
Fifth, the royal family genealogy seems to be an exemplary norm of the historian-compiled genealogy.
Sixth, the royal family genealogy can be called the only text with only a few collected outside as mostly a manuscript.
Seventh, the royal family genealogy is in high reliability as the government-compiled data by Jongbusi or other governmental offices whereas the historian-compiled genealogy was a family-centered personal compilation.
