초록

벤처기업 및 지역의 경쟁우위 확보과정에서, 벤처기업 연계협력이 중요하다. 그리고 다양한 역할주체들간 연계협력과정에서 사회적 자본의 의미가 새삼 강조되고 있다. 따라서 경쟁력 관련 벤처기업 연계협력과정과 사회적 자본 역할 측면에 대한 결합적 분석이 필요한데, 현재까지는 그 양자 각각에 대한 개별적 분석 수준에 상당부분 머물고 있다. 따라서 이 연구의 목적은 벤처기업의연계협력경험과 사회적 자본 역할부분을 통합해서 검토하는 것이다. 보다 구체적으로, 본 연구는벤처기업 연계협력 성과측면을 사회적 자본의 성격, 특징, 유형 부분들과 연계해서 밝히는데 도움을 줄 수 있는 3가지의 가설을 설정하고 검증하는 것이다. 연구결과, 사회적 자본이 벤처기업 연계협력 효과성 제고에 상당히 중요한 역할을 한다. 또한 사회적 자본의 효과성은 벤처기업의 특성에 크게 영향 받는다. 벤처기업의 발전단계와 사회적 자본 유형간의 관계성을 밝히고자 하는가설은 의미있는 결과를 제시하지 못했다. 하지만, 발전단계와 거의 무관하게, 벤처기업 연계협력과정에서 교량적 사회적 자본이 인연적 사회적 자본에 비해 보다 중요한 역할을 수행하고 있는것으로 보인다. 요약하자면, 기술혁신을 위한 벤처기업의 연계협력과정에서 사회적 자본이 상당히 복합적인 역할을 수행하고 있는 것으로 판단된다.

영어초록

It is widely recognized that the cooperative alliances of venture firms are critical to the competitive advantage of venture firms and regions. There is also recently a rapid awareness that social capital is requisite to the effectiveness of the cooperative alliances between a multitude of protagonists. Therefore, much has been written on the impact of cooperative alliances of venture firms and the roles of social capital in relation to the competitiveness.
However, the combining analysis for both the cooperative alliances of venture firms and the roles of social capital has been quite limited until a recent date.
The purpose of this study, therefore, is to integrate the cooperative alliance experiences of venture firms with the roles of social capital. More specifically, this study tries to test 3hypotheses that help explain the cooperative alliance performances of venture firms influenced by the nature, characteristics, and type of social capital. This study claims that social capital is important to the effectiveness of the cooperative alliances of venture firms to a certain degree. In addition, the effectiveness of social capital depends upon the characteristics of venture firms to a large extent. The analysis shows that the relationship hypothesis between the development stages of venture firms and the types of social capital is quite ambiguous. Nevertheless, irrespective of the development stages of venture firms, the role of bridging social capital seems to be more important than that of bonding social capital in the cooperative alliances of venture firms. In sum, the roles of social capital seem to be quite complex in the effectiveness of the cooperative alliances of venture firms for the technological development.
