저층서사에서 ‘땨오쓰’로 ― 영화 『맹정』과 『인재경도』 시리즈를 중심으로 (From ‘Subaltern Narration’ to ‘The Loser Phenomenon’)

초록

Recently, China is suffering from a serious social and economical inequality. Accordingly, many different cultural response has been made. This paper tries to analyse and compare two of the most prominent cultural response ― the ‘Subaltern Narration' and ‘the Loser phenomenon'. These two are the cultural response to the recent alienation of lots of Chinese people, but they show quite different approach toward this problem, which makes them worth studying. The former is very realistic, serious approach, while the latter is somewhat melodramatic and self-mocking one.
I tried to briefly introduce these two cultural phenomena, and then chose three movies(two of them belong to a single series) to analyse and show the differences between these two. They are ;1) Blind Shaft (Li Yang, 2003)2) Lost in Journey (Ye Weimin, 2010)3) Lost in Thailand (Xu Zheng, 2012)I believe that the transition from ‘Subaltern Narration' to ‘the Loser phenomenon' shows the change in the way the alienated class is culturally represented. Subaltern Narration tries to depict this inequality as realistic as possible, but in the Loser phenomenon, they try to overcome and sublimate the same social problem by self-mocking and melodramatic humanism. These are two very significant cultural strategy taken by contemporary Chinese people against deepening social/economical/cultural problem.
