초록

본 연구는 통일과 다원화된 시대에 필요한 평화의 관점과 다문화 사회적 접근 방식을
적용한 유아의 평화문화역량의 개념과 모형을 도출하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 유아의
평화문화역량의 목적과 목표, 교육내용, 교육방법 및 교육 실행을 위한 중요요인과 방해요
인을 알아보기 위해 델파이 조사를 실시하였다. 전문가 30명을 대상으로 3차까지 이루어
진 델파이조사를 통해 도출된 결론과 논의를 제시하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 통일사회와 다문화시대에 적합한 유아의 평화문화역량의 상위 목적은 ‘한국인으
로서의 정체성 갖기’, ‘다양한 문화에 대한 평화주의적 신념과 가치관 갖기’, ‘다양
한 문화에 대한 평화주의적 행동 실천하기’, ‘다양한 문화에 대한 도덕성과 책임감 기
르기’이며 이에 따르는 하위 목표가 도출되었다. 둘째, 유아의 평화문화역량의 교육내용
을 살펴보면, 상호작용, 인권, 민주적 사회, 평화, 비폭력이 상위범주로 도출되었다. 셋째,
교육방법을 살펴보면, 타인존중을 위한 협동수업, 평화문화역량에 관련된 주제중심수업,
도덕성향상을 위한 토론수업, 평화문화역량에 관련된 이야기 나누기 수업, 자아존중감을
위한 놀이수업, 일상생활 전반에 적용 순으로 나타났다. 넷째, 유아의 평화문화역량을 교
육하는 환경에 가장 중요한 요인으로 교사의 태도 및 가치관, 부모의 태도 및 가치관, 유
아의 평화문화역량에 대한 지식, 기술에 대한 이해, 편견 없는 사회적 분위기, 교육기관의
평화문화역량 프로그램 적용, 정책적 지원의 순으로 나타났다. 교육의 방해요인으로는 편
견 없는 교육환경, 교사의 부적절한 태도, 교사의 인식부족, 부모의 부적절한 태도, 사회
적 인식 및 합의 부족, 프로그램 부재, 부모의 인식부족, 실제적 지원부족, 연구기반 부족으로 나타났으며 이상의 결론을 바탕으로 논의하였다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of early childhood peace
and cultural competency from the perspective of peace and the cross-cultural
approach. It also aims to develop a model for early childhood peace and cultural
competency education from the same standpoint and approach. Delphi method was
used to determine the goals, objectives, contents and to suggest educational
methods of early childhood peace and cultural competency education, important
factors for the realization of this education and disturbing factors. A Delphi survey
was conducted three times on 30 selected experts. The findings of the study were
as follows:
First, as for the superordinate goals of early childhood peace and cultural
competency education suitable for future unified society and multicultural era, four
objects were selected: "building identity as a Korean," "building peace-oriented
beliefs in diverse cultures and peace-oriented values," "behaving in a
peace-oriented manner toward diverse cultures," and "cultivating morality and a
sense of responsibility necessary for society with diverse cultures." Then
appropriate subordinate objectives were selected for each of the goals.
Second, concerning the content of early childhood peace and cultural competency
education, five elements were selected as superordinate categories: interaction,
human rights, democratic society, peace and nonviolence.
Third, in terms of educational method, cooperative class that aimed at teaching
respect for others was most preferred, followed by thematic class related to peace
and cultural competency, discussion class geared toward improving morality,
circle-time class related to peace and cultural competency, play class for building
self-esteem and adapting to daily life.
Fourth, the most important factor for educational environments for early
childhood peace and cultural competency was the attitude and values of teachers,
followed by the attitude and values of parents, young children's knowledge on
peace and cultural competency, their understanding of the skills, unprejudiced
social climate, implementation of peace and cultural competency programs by
educational institutions, and support from the government. Then disturbing factors for this education were a lack of unbiased educational environments, the
inappropriate attitude of teachers, their poor understanding, the improper attitude of
parents, a lack of social awareness and consensus, a lack of programs, the poor
understanding of parents, a shortage of practical assistance and a lack of research
infrastructure. Finally, there were some discussions on the findings of the study.
