ABSTRACT

There seems to be much similarity in history between Israel and Republic of Korea. Koreans have sulfered from many kinds of persecution for many years as much as the people of Israel have been the people of Diaspora from earlier times in human history. And just as they have been benefited by many kinds of foreign aids since their independence, so Koreans have been helped by many peoples in the world.
One thing is different, however. Even though the country of Israel has less populaion and smaller territory than Korea, her development in any fields is so remarkable that the study of society and education of this country seems justifable.
The study has placed an emphasis upon geographical features, climate, population, origin and change of history, distingushed national figures etc. in terms of the society of Israel. And it was studied through the system of kibbutz and Moshav in Israel, whose fundamental characteristics were revealed in the Zionism, its spiritural aspect in particular.
The substances of kibbutz were found to be as follows:
1) This community is a complete Gemeinschaft in terms of production, consumption and possession.
2) This community is a completely democratic society in the matters of political management and operation.
3) This community is an integrated productive society of the agriculture and industry in terms of production system.
4) This community represents an extended family system in terms of living status.
5) This community is a great cultured parkfarm in terms of natural environment.
6) This community is an educational organization in terms of cultural aspect.
Education in Israel was divided into general education and Kibbutz education. The substances of the education include the aims of education and the educational system from the birth to college. And it was characteristic of Cooperative Education and Collective Education. Also in Israel, the educationalization of society and socialization of education were formed so well.
Korea has a grea deal to learn from the society and education in Israel.
