Ⅱ. Pattern of Korean Shamanism
It can be shown that Korean Culture has been adopted various religions of other cultures, Confucianism, Buddism, Taoism, Christianity ect.. However, the fundandamental basis of Korean people's consciousness is not one or all of these but the Korean Shamanism in its deep level. Essential characterics which construct the pattern of Korean Shamanism are as follows: a) Shaman (Moodang) as a priest, b) The overlaped concept of God: God image in Korean Shamanism is monoth eistic and polytheistic simultaneously, c) Present world centered orientation in religious acts. d) Contact with spirits (gods) by means of ecstasy, e) Chants, music and dances are used as main way for shaman to get into ecstasy and as the methods of dialogue between man and nature (nature has various meanings such as spirits, gods, God ect.).

Spiritual characteristics of Ancient Korean Shamanism which appeared through WHARANG KOOKSUN in Silla dynasty and JOEI SUNIN in Kokuryeu dynasty were self-reliancing, nationalistic and pragmatic. Ancient Koreans admitted various religions from other cultures as pragmatic devices for themselves.
Ⅴ. Shamanistic Character which appear through the Attitude toward Life and the View of Education of Koreans
Ecstasy, one of the essential factors of the primitive people's shamanistic character, has been appeared several times through historical events in accordance with the revolts of the peoples as the Myochung's Revolt, (妙淸의 亂), the Revolt of the Sambyulcho(三別抄의 亂). the Revolt of Donghak(東學亂) ect.. These revolts were constant to its nationalistic, self-reliancing, integrating way of thinking and ecstatic hope or actions of its participants. And in the views of education of Koreans, shamanistic belief and ideas are constant elements.
