초록

움직임이란, 인간 행동에 있어 가장 기본적인 것으로 자연 발생적인 것이다. 움직임에서 오는 기쁨과 희열은 누구나 경험하는 것으로서 인간은 모체에서 호흡을 시작하고 세상에 태어난 순간부터 움직임과 더불어 생활한다. 모든 움직임은 의미를 가지고 있다. 이러한 움직임은 때때로 언어적인 묘사를 능가하는 분명함과 이해를 가지고 의식적으로나 무의식적으로 의사소통을 하고 있는 정교하고 문화적으로 암호화된 기호 시스템이다. 이와 같은 인간의 움직임은 기능적(functional)인 수단에서 표현적(expressive)인 수단에 이르기 까지 인간에게 없어서는 안 될 중요한 역할을 한다(육완순, 1986). 무용 이론가인 구니 마사미(邦正美, 1974)는 인간의 움직임에 대해 "인간 생활에 있어 가장 기본적인 신체적 경험이며, 단순한 전달의 기능에서 삶의 존재를 확인하는 일로부터 정서적 경험의 표현에 이르기까지 하나의 동작을 통해 표출되는 인간 내심의 상징(symbol)이라 할 수 있다."라고 포괄적으로 표현하였다. 이와 같이 인간은 내적 심리 상태인 희로애락(喜怒哀樂)을 다양한 움직임을 통해 표현하는 것이다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is that on the basis of LMA's methodology which is Laban's movement analysis system, to search how "Han" represents into movements with some expression characteristics.
To achieve the purpose of the study, I analyzed them with 4 categories - Body, Effort, Space and Shape by using Laban's movement qualitative analysis theory, LMA. And the objects of this study are focused on the movement in Han Yeong Suk's lineage, Salpoori, which is expressed Korean sentiment "Han", and Giselle, which is well manifested of a woman dancer's pas seul. Also, I analyzed the special quality after recording primarily movements with using Motif Writing. Two experts of having certificates of qualifications of LMA and two Motif Writing experts verified the results that are deduced through the interpretation of two processes of singularity flowed. As a result, expression characteristics of the sentiment "Han" that appear in two dances are as following.
Firstly, the whole body is regarded as one unit because the body application adapts Dynamic Alignment/Body Connectivity. Dancer's trunk makes Hollowing Shape takes a form of obvolute. With keeping this body posture, all movements employ Breath Support and Core Support.
Secondly, the application of Effort is moved moderately by using effort of Bound Flow in all movements. And it also applies the Effort combination of Passing Drive (Flow/Time/Weight), which limits the use of Space Effort and Mobile State (Flow/Time) and the Effort combination of Dream State (Weight/Flow).
Thirdly, the use of Space makes Inner Space and Central Spatial Tension. This logic keeps on a Dancer's internalization and concentration toward the inside. The movement alternates icosahedron that is shown two-dimensional space movement characteristics and regular cube that is shown three-dimensional space movement characteristics. Two arms that use a tension of central space makes Transverse or Peripheral Pathway.
Lastly, the use of Shape is very important in general movement and under the condition of spreading in Shape Flow strongly, Shaping is consecutively used that the volume is emphasized on. The movements of two arms emphasize Directional Shape, which intended Directional Shape.
To sum up, in the light of analogizing through the above-mentioned results, the representative characteristics in Korean dance and romantic ballets have contrastive distinction in technique of movement that consists of each dance in view of different cultural, regional backgrounds. Nevertheless, I grasped a lot of commons in a way of qualitative factors of the movement to make mood through the emotional representation through dance. Hence, the sentiment 'Han' represents through very similar bodily expression characteristics even though having different cultural and regional backgrounds in the East and the West
