The purpose of this study was to investigate the general characteristic of injury that had happened during the period of 1988-1999 winter season in A ski resort. The data the investigation was obtained from the first aid treatent jogs of aforementioned resort. Elementary school students were 175 cases and adults were 992 cases and the total were 1167 cases. The mothods of statistics used to analyze the collected data was x2 test and Frequency analysis.
The findings from this investigation includes the followin.
1. It was found that the male(57.7%) for the injury appeared higher than female(42.3%) particularly 69.1% of the total ski injury cases happened in January.
2. It was fount that the most likelihood time was between 1 p.m and 5 p.m and 51.4% cases in this survey.
3. The types of injuries were burn(41.7), blow(20.6) strain injury(16.0%) in order.
4. It was found that the most frequently injured body part was face(34.3%) and the next was hand(16.0%), thigh injury(9.2) in order
Primary findings on comparison of elementary chool students and adults include the following.
1. The monthe, types and frequent part of injury were significant different(p<.05) between elemenraty school students and adults whereas the daily probability and time zone were not significantly different(p>.05)
2.Both elementary school students(69.1%) and adults(53.3%) for injury appeared the most frequently in January.
3. Elementary school students(19.4) for injury appeared most highly in saturday and adults(18.95) appeared on sunday.
4. The time zone of the injury appeared most frequently between 1 p.m and 5 p.m both elementary school students and aduls
5. The type of injury for elementary school students were murn(41.7%), blow(20.6%), strain(16.0%0 and for adults were burn(27.5%0 ligamentous (23.4%) blow(20.75) strain injury(18.4) in order.
6. The most frequently injured body parts of elementary school students were face and next were hand thigh and aduls were knee hand face injury in order.
