초록

본 연구의 목적은 인터넷 채팅이 오프라인에서의 즉석미팅(일명 번개팅)으로 연결되면서 파생되는 청소년 성비행문제가 심각한 현실에 주목하면서, 번개팅으로 인해 발생하는 청소년 성비행문제의 대처방안 모색을 위해서 필요한 정보를 제공하는 데 있다. 대구권의 5개 고등학생 450명을 대상으로 서베이(survey) 조사연구를 하였다. 자료분석 결과, 다양한 유형(“단순 데이트형,” “성행위형”, “성매매형”)의 번개팅에 대해서 남여고등학생들이 어느 정도 문제의식을 가지고 있는지를 진단하고, 번개팅에 대한 고등학생들의 인식에 유의미한 영향을 주는 요인들을 다양한 영역(사회계층적 요인, 가족환경, 학교생활, 성인식.성행동 관련배경, 심리.행동특성 등)에서 성별(gender) 그리고 번개팅 유형별로 파악하여, 이를 토대로 실천적 함의를 제시하였다.

영어초록

With the increase of adolescents' serious sexual misconducts resulted from internet chatting, this paper is intended to present a pioneering study on their involvement with the subsequent off-hand meeting right after internet chatting (“thunder meeting”). The predominant concern of the study consist in: (1) the prevalence of the impromptu meeting followed by internet chatting; (2) the individual perceptions among subjects on a variety of relevant meeting modes, including an “ordinary date type”, a “sexual intercourse type” and a “prostitution type”; (3) the correlates on individuals' perceptions on each case of the meetings.
In order for subjects to locate the significant correlates on these three distinctive modes (3 dependent variables), 19 independent variables have been set, being divided into the five categories such as: socio-economic backgrounds (3 variables); family environments (3 variables); school life-related factors (3 variables); sexuality-related perceptual/ behavioral factors (6 variables); and psychological/behavioral characteristics (4 variables). Research is based on a survey conducted with 450 adolescents (195 males and 255 females) from five high schools located in different districts of the city of Daegu.
The major findings of the study are as follows. Above all, it has been noted that 9.7% of male and 4.3% of female subjects have experienced the off-line impromptu meeting via internet chatting, which clearly indicates that female participants are far outnumbered by male ones. A large number of subjects (41% of males and 44% of females respectively) responded that they have been exposed to those kinds of meetings in a highly sexualized ambience.
Next, the degree of critical perceptions of the subjects toward the meetings tend to be at variance, according both to the meeting types and to their own gender. Noticeably, female subjects are inclined to be much more critical to such encounters than their male counterparts. The ratio of negative responses of each sex is as follows: an “ordinary date type” (male 41%, female 44%), a “sexual intercourse type” (male 36.4%, female 12.6%) and “prostitution type” (male 26.7%, female 8.7%).
Thirdly, the significant correlates on the critical perceptions of male subjects to each meeting type include: (1) an ordinary date type - religious life (.134), sexual affirmation (-.142), sexual openness (-.180), sexualized ambience (-.2.2); (2) sexual intercourse type - sexual affirmation (-.174), sexual openness (-.365), definition on sexual violence (.149); (3) prostitution type- sexual openness (-.249), definition on sexual violence (.150), social maturity (.140).
Finally, the significant correlates on the critical perceptions of female subjects to each meeting type include: (1) simple date type - sexualized ambience (-.339), sexual openness (-.204); (2) sexual intercourse type - sexual openness (-.267), sexual intercourse experience (-.133); (3) prostitution type - sexual openness (-.255), quality of parental caring (.184).
In conclusion, the above findings claim our attention in that they provide a range of practical implications for social workers and other related professionals who are engaged in helping out the adolescents intent on the above-mentioned sexual encounters via internet both in the cyber space and in the real world.
