Dear Sir or Madam
My name is Se-Won Hur. At present, I am studying for an MSc. in International Management at Exeter University. I am writing to apply for MPhil in Bioscience Enterprise for 2005-2006 at Cambridge.
Since I entered Kyunghee University in Korea, I have prepared to become a bio-business man with bio-scientific knowledge, business-minded with a worldwide perspective. For this reason, I studied for joint B.A in Genetic Engineering and Global Management at my university. Also, I have travelled to many countries to obtain a variety of cultural experiences and widen my global viewpoint. During my university days, I did quite many works related with Business management and Genetic Engineering: for example, such projects as the Potential and the Possibility of a Northeast-Asian Economic Union, Making of Drugs Using Cyclooxygenase, Competition of Advertisement of Korean Aloe Company, the Virtue and Cell Culturing of the Ephedra Sinica and so on. In addition, to promote leadership skills I worked for the Student Union. From these experiences, I created a Student Scholar Club to study genetic Engineering and business management together.
Although I have tried to experience many things in the genetic engineering and business management fields, I have been confronted with a lack of advanced skills and theories in these fields I have a great need for advanced and systematic studies in the consolidated areas of generic engineering and business management. My experiences until now will be helpful to my studies.
For these reason, I decided to apply for the Bioscience Enterprise Programme at your university. I am looking forward to studying at Cambridge.
