The throng of more than eight hundreds in the Redmond conference center, WA stood and cheered, and the thousands who couldn’t get in there were also watching screen of the event online or outside on June 28, 2008. A guy who had stood in front of a mass of the people was still wiping the tears from his face, and bowed his head to the applause. Later, the guy opened his mouth and said “There won’t be a day of my life that I am not thinking about Microsoft and the great things that it’s doing, and wanting to help. So thank you for making it the center of my life, and so much fun.” (Bishop) It looked like the guy’s farewell address, and his figure was splendid because he didn’t only donate as much as he earned but he also would spend more time on his global health and education work at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation beyond Microsoft which is the worldwide leader in a software company. He was the “Bill Gates” who was one of the most distinguished business men in the 20’s. According to a couple of modifier about him, there were a lot of words such as one of the world’s richest men, a computer genius, an emperor of Microsoft Empire, a notorious business man due to his monopoly policies, and the person who drives endless controversies. However, it has taken merely 30 years from nothing. If so, people would wonder how it could be possible from nothing to one of the richest men and giving almost all of the properties to charity. This is the trace how Bill Gates walks through and what he has done.
Bill Gates was born as the second child out of three at Gates family on October 28, 1955 in Seattle, WA. His family lives a life of relative ease and financial security because his father, William H. Gates, was a prominent attorney and his mother, Mary Maxwell Gates, was in a high position of a financial holding company and a school teacher.
