본문내용

1. What is the advantage of controlled access over random access?
collision 발생이 없다.
random access는 무작위적으로 station에서 서로 데이터를 전송 할 수가 있다.
그래서 collision이 발생한다.
반면 controlled access에서는 collision 발생을 줄이거나, 발생을 막았다.

3. When do we increment the backoff in a network that users ALOHA?
Station에서 Base Station으로 Frame을 보내면서 Backoff를 0으로 초기화 한다.
그러고 나서, 정해진 시간 (2 × Maximum Propagation Delay) 내에 Acknowledgement를
받지 못했을 경우 Backoff를 1 증가시키면서 Frame을 다시 전송하다.
이렇게 반복하다 Backoff가 15가 되면 Station은 Frame 전송을 포기한다.

5. What is the purpose of the jam signals in CSMA/CD?
Collision이 발생하면 모든 station에게 Jam signal을 전송하여,
더 이상의 Collision이 발생하는 것을 막는다.

7. Name three popular controlled-access methods.
Reservation - Reservation Frame이 있다.
Station은 데이터를 전송하기 전에 예약을 하고 보내는 방식이다.
여러 개의 Station은 Reservation Frame에 데이터 전송을 기록하고,
데이터를 전송하면 된다. MA 가능
만약 Station의 개수가 N개 이면, Reservation Frame내의 minislot 역시 N개이다.
Polling - Primary Station과 Secondary Station으로 나뉜다.
Secondary Station은 데이터가 있어도 곧바로 전송할 수 없고, Primary Station의 제어
에 따라 데이터를 전송할 수 있다.
Primary Station은 한번에 하나의 Secondary Station만 제어하므로 MA 불가능.
