We could see his name at the end of film in a theater if you saw carefully. Can you guess? All right, I can give you one more chance. He is not actor or actress neither. Do you? His name is Lee Mido. Have you heard his name?
He is a number one translator of a film in Korea. He has translated many movies. For example, almost films are that we’ve seen or heard which are “the Armageddon”, “the gladiator”, and “the American beauty” as a distinguished film. And he translates about 40films in a year.
When he was young, his father was working at the Camp of U.S. Army in Korea as a secretary interpreter and a librarian even he didn’t graduate a university. But he loved USA particularly. And he wanted him to study English. A funny thing is that Mido means that to go USA across a sea. Anyway he gave him a lot of opportunity to study English and brought him a theater in the Camp to watch a film which spoken by English. So he was boring when he is in a class of English at the school. Actually he wanted to work about film but he couldn’t say to his father. `cause his father thought that the film world was no good. He went to USA to study about an advertisement when he finished the military service. But he started to work about an advertisement when he was beginning of 30-year-old eventually. It was not translation. But he found what he wanted and also his friends suggested that to try to translate a film. Then he got a chance to translate a film. It was “Blue” that main actress was Juliette Binoche. After that, many film companies gave him films that need to translate. And then he has translate until present.
And he teach that how to study English for the people who want to study English.
1. Read a book which written by English and Speak English loudly
(If you can have a story tape which native speaker’s speaking)
2. Watch a film and write down some sentence, which you like.
