To what extent are different building materials (marble, granite, concrete, limestone) affected (in terms of being dissolved) by various types of acids (sulphuric, hydrochloric, nitric) and their varying concentration ( 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%)

1.2 Background context
The investigation focuses on 3 types of acid (sulphuric, hydrochloric, nitric) and its effects on different types of building materials. Acids are chemical substances that generally have a pH lower than 7 when dissolved in water. Acids are usually a liquid that contains hydrogen and may react with other substances in order to form salts. Acids can be found everywhere in our daily lives, and the form of the acid that has the most negative impact on Earth's living organisms begins with acid rain, the precipitation with pH level below 5, that becomes acidic when the pollutant substances in the air combine with rain. Specifically, it is the chemical reaction when compounds such as sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) caused by human activities including combustion of fossil fuel, vehicle and power plants release into the atmosphere and react with oxygen, water and other chemicals.
