According to the CASS report, Chinese diasporas have increased dramatically, even reaching 35 million, making China the largest migrant group thanks to the globalization (Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the United States of America). Those Chinese overseas maintain Chinese culture and their identity, forming Chinatown. Moreover, in the case of students, many are returning back to China for better opportunities after finishing their college education (Mccarthy). In other words, China is highly benefited by those Chinese diasporas as they offer chance to spread Chinese culture to the world, while returning with other good cultures and technologies from other countries.
According to Martin Baumann, the term diaspora is derived from the Greek word 'spread' and was first used to describe Jews and their communities exiled from Palestine, 'Holy Land' (Baumann 19). However, since 1990s, the term has become expanded to include forced and voluntary migrations as discourses of the term increase (Hear 34).
