[매스미디어] 미디어의 폭력성이 청소년의 사상에 미치는 영향

폭력적 TV 장면의 시청이 공격행동에 미치는 영향은 크게 정신분석학에서 제안된 정화이론(catharsis theory)과 인지주의적 접근인 사회학습이론(social learning theory)의 두가지 다른 방향에서 논의되어 왔다. 정화이론에서는 TV나 영화를 통해 공격적인 장면을 보게 되면 이것은 공격적인 에너지를 발산시켜 주는 역할을 하며 이후의 공격행동을 감소시켜 준다고 주장한다. 그러나 이러한 입장은 그 후 별다른 지지를 받지 못하고 있으며, 많은 연구들에서 공격영화의 시청은 오히려 공격행동을 증가시킨다는 사실이 밝혀졌다. 정화이론과 반대되는 이러한 연구결과는 주로 사회학습이론으로 설명되며, 이것은 1960년대 초 Bandura에 의해 사회학습이론이 처음으로 제안된 이래 이 이론을 실증하는 실험연구와 현장 연구들 중심으로 이루어져왔다. 그러나 사회학습이론에서 설명하는 관찰학습과 모방과정은 새로운 공격행동의 획득(acquisition)에 관한 것만 설명할 뿐, 공격장면을 시청한 후 발견되는 금지해제(disinhibition), 정서적 흥분유발(arousal), 태도 형성(attitude formation) 등이 어떻게 일어나는지에 관한 분명한 설명을 해주지 못한다. 이러한 상황에서참고 자료
