Should abortion be legalized worldwide? What are the advantages and disadvantages if it becomes legal? Pro-choice advocator, who supports the legalization of abortion, usually asserts that abortion should be legal to ensure the basic rights of women. On the other hand, pro-life advocators insist that abortion is impossible from the standpoint of respecting the life of an unborn child. Even though it is a controversial topic and there are so many opinions on this topic, abortion should be legalized. By legalizing abortion in the world, governments would reduce the number of women who are troubled with: unwanted pregnancies and childbirth due to rape, prevent the child abandonment and child abuse due to unwanted pregnancies, and protect women from complications and death due to illegal alternatives even though the opposing side disputes with these reasons and stance.
Although, legalizing abortion in the world can save many women who fall victim to unwanted pregnancies, especially due to rape, there are many women who suffer from unwanted pregnancies.
