본문내용
-Syllable: A unit of pronunciation typically larger than a single sound and smaller than a word. 음절은 하나의 소리보다는 크고 단어보다는 작은 단위를 일컬음
Ex) card /kɑrd/, v: /ɑ/, Cs: /k,r,d/
->Syllable must include a vowel, may have consonants preceding and following that vowel.
반드시 모음을 포함해야 하고 앞에 자음이 선행하거나 뒤에 따라 붙을 수도 있음.
-The different possibilities of the structure of a syllable can be represented as follows: (C)V(C)
*center=peak=nucleus(a vowel)
*onset=initial part of the syllable that consists of either one or more consonants.
*coda=the final part of the syllable that consists of either one or more consonants.
*The nucleus and the coda form the rhyme (=rime).
-Rhyming words: ex) seat, heat, eat, feet, beat
-Syllabic structure 그려보기
-The pattern of vowels and consonants refer to the phonological unit of syllable.
*Aspiration: voiceless stops are aspirated at the beginning of stressed syllable.
*Glottalization or glottal stop replacement of /t/: /t/ may be optionally glottalized or totally replaced by a glottal stop in syllable-final position.
