Introduction
In our body, the hypoxia condition occurs during development, solid tumor growth and so on. The hypoxia in tissues leads to apoptosis since there is the deficiency of oxygen or nutrient in the hypoxia regions. As a result, the growth and viability of cells is reduced.
To protect against hypoxia condition and adapt this environment, cells have its own response mechanisms, such as increasing cellular respiration or erythrocyte production, enlarging vessel, inducing vascularization, and decreasing glucogenesis or ATP production. Otherwise, when the cells couldn’t adapt this environment, or fail to get the resistance against hypoxia condition, those cells go to apoptosis.
