I have never thought about reading strategy and reading skill before studying reading education in this semester, and I was not familiar with the term "reading skill or reading strategy", either. But now that I`m studying reading skill, and I`m a learner for reading education, I will write about that, especially about English reading strategy, reflecting my high school season, the time of the hardest reading in my life.
To begin with, I have skimming the target article once, and then scan it slowly again to get the whole stream of it. During the first reading and second reading, although I meet the unfamiliar words, I make it a rule not to look for dictionary. I think that getting the main idea of the article with a dictionary not opened is the most important skill when reading English. If a reader studies for the important test about English, the exercise like that should be done, I suggest. At the next step, if there are any questions about the article, I read the questions ,and solve them. At that time, that the questions are read also first is effective to understand.
