I have lived in Texas two years ago when I came to the United States for the first time. At that time, I was attending an Intensive English program at University of North Texas, a very famous University for jazz music. For that reason, I had lots of friends whose majors are music performance, and sometimes I went to the concert with them. In this spring, when I was visiting my friend who was majoring in piano performance, I happened to go to Zimmermann’s concert in the Bass hall in Fort Worth, Texas. When I first heard about the polish pianist, Krystian Zimmermann, all I knew was that Zimerman carried his own instrument wherever he travels, allowing him to focus only on his music. He had applied several of his own technical inventions that have made it possible for him, as well as for other musicians, to take his instrument along on tours. I got the impression that he was somewhat obsessed about carrying his own piano, before I found out the fact that there are other lots of pianists who insist on the same thing just to provide more professional aspect of performance.
