①The history of facebook
-An October 28, 2003, as a sophomore at Harvard, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg put together an application called Face-mash as a spin-off of the then popular Hot or Not. Photos of Harvard students were placed next to each other, and viewers were asked to choose the hotter person. Zuckerberg hacked into the Harvard network to obtain photos. He was charged by the Harvard administration for a breach in privacy, but he was later let off the hook.

-On February 4, 2004, thefacebook.com was born, a social network limited to Harvard students

-In March 2004, the social network was opened to Stanford, Columbia, and Yale and eventually most universities in the United States and Canada

-On September 26,2006, Facebook opened to everyone ages 13 and older

-A popular, free-access social networking website

-Users can join networks organized by city, workplace, school, and region to connect and interact with other people.

-Update their personal profile to notify friends about themselves.

-The website`s name refers to the paper facebooks depicting members of a campus community that some US colleges and preparatory schools give to incoming students, faculty, and staff as a way to get to know other people on campus.
