서울아트마켓 활성화를 위한 인터넷 플랫폼 도입방안 고찰 (A Study on Introduction of Internet Platform to Revitalize PAMS)

초록

본 연구는 국제공연예술마켓인 서울아트마켓(PAMS)의 한계를 극복하는 방안을 모색코자 시작되었다. 본 연구의 목적은 인터넷플랫폼인 버추얼 워멕스(Virtual WOMEX)와 소닉비즈(Sonicbids)의 고찰을통해 서울아트마켓에 도입을 제언 하는 것이다. 따라서 본 논문은 플랫폼에 대한 이론적 고찰과 서울아트마켓의 현황을 논거 삼아 인터넷 플랫폼 구축을 제시하였다. 서울아트마켓의 분석 결과 시장으로서의 기능이 아직 부족함을 볼 수 있다. 시·공간적 제약으로 인한 쇼케이스는 실제 구매로 이어지기 어렵다. 또한 해외 참가자의 참여 저조와, 참여할 수 있는 마켓이 적어 실거래보다는 네트워킹에 만족하고 있었다. 보다근본적으로는 주로 비영리적인 활동 중심의 공연예술은 상품(작품)거래가 폐쇄적, 제한적인 경로를 통해유통된다. 따라서 공급자(예술가)와 수요자(관객 혹은중간 매개자) 간 정보의 비대칭성으로 시장의 확대가쉽지 않다. 한편 버추얼 워멕스와 소닉비즈는 오픈된시장에서 참가자들에 대한 정보제공과 공연예술가 및작품 아카이빙, 공연 관련 뉴스와 커뮤니케이션 제공등 단순한 자료구축이 아닌 데이터베이스 아카이빙을통해 정보 접근성과 편의성을 제공하고 있었다. 연구결과 및 내용은 다음과 같다. 서울아트마켓의 온라인플랫폼 구축은 첫째, 시·공간적 제약을 극복하는 현실적 대안이 될 수 있을 것이며 둘째, 네트워킹 기회와시장의 폭은 더욱 확대되고 이에 따른 소요비용은 최- 26 - 소화할 수 있을 것이다. 셋째, 공연정보의 상시적 제공과 교환 촉진과 함께 보다 많은 작품 노출을 통해일회성 행사의 한계를 극복할 수 있을 것이다.
이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 학계와 현장 전문가들의 논의가 활성화되는 계기를 기대한다. 또한 공연예술유통의 인터넷 플랫폼을 어떻게 시행할 것인지 더깊은 검토와 논의가 필요하다.

영어초록

This study was started to find a way to overcome the limits of Performing Arts Market in Seoul(PAMS), an international performing arts market. The purpose of this research is to propose the introduction to PAMS by reviewing the internet platform, Virtual WOMEX and Sonicbids. Therefore, this research suggests the construction of internet platform based on the theoretical review of the platform and the current status of PAMS. Analysis of PAMS shows that the function of market is still lacking. Due to space and time constraints, the showcase is not likely to lead to actual purchases.
Also, they were satisfied with just networking rather than actual transactions because there were few participation of foreign participants and markets to participate in. More fundamentally, mainly performing arts centered on non-profit activities are circulated through closed, limited channels of commerce. Therefore, it is difficult to expand market scope due to the asymmetry of information between suppliers(artists) and consumers (audience or intermediaries). Meanwhile, Virtual Womex and Sonicbids ars providing information accessibility and convenience through database archiving, not just file system, such as providing information about the participants in the open market, performing artists and work archives, and providing performance news and communication. The results and contents of this research are as follows. First, the construction of the online platform of PAMS will be a practical alternative to overcome the limitation of time and space. Second, networking opportunities and market size will be expanded and the cost will be minimized. Third, it will be able to overcome limitations of one-time event by exposing more works with promotional provision and exchange of artwork information.
Based on the results of this study, we expect that the discussions between academic and field experts will be activated. In addition, a deeper review and discussion is needed on how to implement the Internet platform for performing arts distribution.
