중국 우한 한양제철소 폐공장 개조에 따른 유휴 공간 재활용 방안 (A Proposal for the Reutilization of Idle Spaces following the Renovation of the Hanyang Ironworks in Wuhan, China)

초록

삶의 질이 향상되면서 생태 환경에 대한 대중들의 관심도 높아짐과 동시에 도시 인근 폐공장의 재활용에 대한 문제가 새로운 화두로 떠오르고 있다. 특히 세계 경제의 지속적인 발전과 더불어 폐공장의 유휴 공간 재활용은 전 세계적으로 뜨거운 이슈가 되었다.
이에 본 논문에서는 중국의 우한 한양제철소를 대상으로 성공적인 개조 방안을 모색해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 유휴 공간 재활용의 개념을 정의하고, 데이터 정리와 역사 정리 방법을 사용하여 한양제철소의 발전과정을 파악한 뒤, 한양제철소 내 유휴 공간 현황에 대한 현지 조사를 거쳐 개조에 따른 실질적 필요성을 분석하였다. 그리고 공장 내 유휴 공간을 건물 내부와 외부 공간으로 구분하여 상세히 설명하였다. 이후 “한국 F1963”, “베이징 798 예술구”, “독일 뒤스부르크”와 같은 폐공장 개조 사례를 비교·분석하여 개조 전략과 공장 내 건물의 현황과 특징을 결합하여 폐공장 내부 및 외부 공간의 개조 원칙과 전략을 제시하였다.
마지막으로 이러한 개조 원칙과 전략을 활용하여 한양제철소의 특징과 함께 건물 내부공간을 ‘대규모형’, ‘재래식’, ‘특이형’으로 분류하고, 건물 외부는 기존 유휴 공간과 구조물이 있는 유휴 공간으로 나누어 상세하게 분석하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 개조 후의 효과도를 도출하였다.
본 연구는 폐공장 건물을 재활용하는데 있어 지속 가능한 생태적 디자인을 따르며, 전체 환경을 고려하여 건물 내외부의 공간을 실용적이면서도 조화롭게 개조하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 이처럼 도시의 특징, 역사와 문화, 주변 환경 및 사회적 요구를 종합적으로 고려한 공간의 재구성과 기능의 통합을 통해 방치된 공간을 되살린다면 지역에 새로운 활기를 불어넣어 경제적 가치를 창출할 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구가 중국 여러 도시에 잠자고 있는 다양한 유형의 유휴 공장들을 새롭게 부활시키는데 유용한 참고자료로 활용되기를 바란다.

영어초록

With the improvement of living standards, the public has also begun to pay increasing attention to the ecological environment, and the recycle of abandoned factories has received more attention. As the global economy continues to develop, the recycle of idle space in abandoned factories has become a hot topic worldwide.
This paper first defines the concept of reutilizing idle spaces. Then, it analyzes the development history of Hanyang Iron factory using data organization and historical review methods, conducts on-site research on the current situation of idle spaces within Hanyang Steel Factory, and analyzes the necessity of their renovation. It further dividing the idle spaces within the area into internal and external architectural spaces of the buildings and provides a detailed description.
Next, the paper uses a comparative analysis method to examine renovation case studies such as the "F1963 in Korea", "Beijing 798 Art Zone", and "Duisburg in Germany", It combines the renovation principles and strategies with the current status and characteristics of the buildings within the area to propose principles and strategies for the renovation of both internal and external spaces of the abandoned factory.
Finally, utilizing these renovation principles and strategies, combined with the characteristics of the idle spaces in Hanyang, the internal spaces of the Hanyang buildings are divided into "Large-span", "Conventional type", and "Unique type", and categorizing the external spaces as original idle spaces and idle spaces with existing structures. It provides Detailed analysis is conducted based on these classifications and derives the effects of iconic buildings after post-renovation This study follows a sustainable ecological design approach for the reuse of abandoned industrial buildings, and utilization of abandoned factory buildings, based on excavating and renovating internal and external spaces within the whole environment. By Considering the urban characteristics, historical culture, surrounding environment, and social needs, it achieves a transformation to comprehensive space through space reconstruction and function integration, endowing the area with vitality and economic value. The aims is to provide a reference for the reuse of idle spaces and utilization of idle spaces in many solid-type abandoned factories in many cities in our country.
