랜드스케이프 개념에서 본 소우 후지모토 건축의 판의 조직에 관한 연구 (A Study on Organizing Plate of Sou Fujimoto Architecture from the view of Landscape Concept)

초록

(연구배경 및 목적) 소우 후지모토는 타자적인 요인을 허용하는 자연과 같이 열린 체계를 갖춘 공간을 만들고자 다양한 건축적 시도를 해나가고 있다. 그는 이를 ‘미래의 숲’이라고 하고 있는데, 그것의 본질을 파악해보기 위해서는 랜드스케이프 관점에서 그의 건축을 분석해보는 것이 필요하다. 또한, 그는 판의 조직을 통해 예상치 못한 타자를 받아들일 수 있는 건축을 만들고자 다양한 건축적 실험을 하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 판의 조직을 통해 이루어지는 그의 건축적 실험을 랜드스케이프 관점에서 분석해봄으로써 그가 구현하고자 하는 ‘미래의 숲’의 건축적 본질이 무엇인지 밝히고자 하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. (연구방법) 2장에서 랜드스케이프의 이론적 고찰을 토대로 랜드스케이프 특성을 도출한다. 3장에서는 그의 건축의 판의 조직 유형을 분류한다. 4장에서는 앞서 3장에서 분류한 판의 조작 유형별로 랜드스케이프 특성이 어떻게 나타나고 있는지 2장에서 도출한 요소를 분석틀로 하여 분석함으로써 5장에서 궁극적으로 그가 구현하고자 하는 건축의 모습인 ‘미래의 숲’의 본질이 무엇인지 해석한다. (결과) 판의 공명적 겹침 유형에서는 병치되고 중첩되면서 물리적 경계가 느슨해지고 공간이 그라데이션처럼 혼성되는 혼성적, 유기적 특성이 높게 나타났고, 판의 다층적 분화 유형에서는 나선형 판의 다층적 분화로 주변의 흐름과 자연스럽게 연계되어 맥락적으로 확장되는 확장적, 연속적 특성이 높게 나타났다. 판의 집합적 이접 유형에서는 작은 단위의 매스의 불규칙한 이접을 통해 물리적 경계가 사라지고 부분간의 상호작용으로 경계가 인식되는 유기적, 점유적 특성이 높게 나타났으며, 변이적 반복 유형에서는 물리적 경계를 없애고 확정적 프로그램 없이 스케일과 상대적인 관계만으로 이용자의 행위와 장소가 결정되는 불확정적, 유기적, 점유적 특성이 높게 나타나는 것으로 분석되었다. (결론) 랜드스케이프의 관점에서 그가 추구하는 ‘미래의 숲’과 같은 건축은 첫째, 중첩을 통한 공명으로 내외부가 침투되어 관계가 전이되고 혼성되는 공간을 의미한다. 둘째, 길과 같은 통로의 다층적 분화를 통해 주변의 흐름과 연계되어 그 사이로 풍경을 끌어들여 건축, 도시, 자연의 관계가 맥락적으로 확장되는 공간을 의미한다. 셋째, 부분의 불규칙한 이접을 통해 물리적 경계를 없애고 부분과 전체가 공존하는 집합적인 공간을 의미한다. 마지막으로 최소 단위 판의 요소의 반복을 통해 나타나는 변이적 구조를 통해 지형과 같이 계기와 실마리로 가득찬 불확정적인 공간이라고 해석할 수 있다.

영어초록

(Background and Purpose) Sou Fujimoto is making various architectural attempts to create a space with an open system like nature that allows for other factors. He said this as 'Forest of the Future'. To understand its essence, it is necessary to analyze his architecture from a landscape perspective. In addition, he is conducting various architectural experiments to create architecture like a forest that can accept the unexpected otherness through the organization of the plate. Accordingly, this study aims to reveal the architectural essence of the 'Forest of the Future' that he seeks to realize by analyzing his architectural experiments conducted through the organization of plates from a landscape perspective. (Method) In Chapter 2, landscape characteristics were derived based on theoretical considerations of landscape. In Chapter 3, I categorized the organizational types of plates in his architecture. In Chapter 4, I analyzed how the landscape characteristics are displayed for each type of organizing plate categorized in Chapter 3, using the elements derived in Chapter 2. In Chapter 5, I interpreted the essence of 'Forest of the Future', which is ultimately architecture he seeks to realize. (Results) In the resonant overlapping type of plate, the hybrid and organic characteristics were analyzed as high, with physical boundaries loosening and spaces mixing like gradients as they were juxtaposed and overlapped. In the multi-layer differentiation type of plate, expansive and continuous characteristics that naturally connect with the surrounding flow and expand contextually by the multi-layer differentiation of the spiral plate were analyzed as high. In the collective disjunction type of the plate, organic and occupying characteristics were analyzed as high, where physical boundaries disappeared through irregular disjunction of small units of mass, and boundaries were recognized through interactions between parts. In the variational repetition type, indeterminate, organic, and occupancy characteristics were analyzed as high where physical boundaries were eliminated and the user's actions and location were determined only by the scale and relative relationships without a definitive program. (Conclusions) From the perspective of landscape, architecture such as the 'Forest of the Future' that he pursues means, first, a space where the inside and outside are penetrated through resonance through overlap, and relationships are transferred and mixed. Second, it means a space where the relationship between architecture, the city, and nature is expanded contextually by connecting with the surrounding flow through the multi-layered differentiation of passages such as roads inflowing the scenery between them. Third, it means a collective space where the part and the whole coexist by eliminating physical boundaries through irregular disjunction of parts. Lastly, the variational structure that appears through repetition of the elements of the minimum unit plate can be interpreted as an indeterminate space full of opportunities and clues, like topography.
