작업치료사의 치매안심센터 조기검진팀 사업 참여 당위성에 대한 연구 (A Study of the Justification for Occupational Therapist’ Participation in the Projects by the Early Examination Team of a Dementia Care Center)

초록

목적: 본 연구에서는 전국 작업치료사들을 대상으로 작업치료사의 치매안심센터 조기검진팀 사업 참여 당위성에 대해 알아보고자 하였다.
연구방법: 2020년 4월부터 2020년 8월까지 전국 작업치료사 264명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문지 회수 결과, 응답이 누락된 6부를 제외한 258부가 최종 분석자료로 활용되었다.
연구결과: 치매안심센터 조기검진팀 사업과 관련하여 작업치료사의 역량에 대한 인식 조사 결과, 연구에 참여한 작업치료사들은 노인 및 치매질환, 인지, 일상생활활동, 조기검진팀 검진사업, 조기검진팀 서비스 연계 5개 영역 모두 평균 4점 이상으로 작업치료사가 해당 영역에 대한 역량을 갖춘 전문가라고 인지하고 있었다. 또한, 작업치료사의 치매안심센터 조기검진팀 사업 참여에 관한 당위성에 대한 인식 조사 결과, 치매안심센터 조기검진팀의 작업치료사 포함에 대한 당위성, 인지와 인지평가 및 중재 전문가를 통한 인지검사 수행, 노인과 치매질환에 대한 지식을 갖춘 전문가를 통한 치매지원서비스 연계 및 후속상담 실시, 노인의 일상생활활동에 대한 지식을 갖춘 전문가를 통한 치매지원서비스 연계 및 후속상담 실시의 필요성에 대한 4개 문항 모두 평균 4점 이상으로 해당 영역에 대한 전문가가 관련 서비스를 실시해야 한다고 생각하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 일반적 특성에 따른 조기검진팀 사업 관련 작업치료사의 역량과 당위성에 대한 인식은 모두 유의한 차이가 없었다.
결론: 본 연구는 작업치료사의 치매안심센터 조기검진사업 참여 당위성 마련을 위한 근거자료를 제시하였다는데 의의가 있다

Objective : The purpose of this study was to ascertain the justification for occupational therapists' participation in the projects by the early examination team of a dementia care center from occupational therapists nationwide.
Methods : A survey of 264 occupational therapists nationwide was conducted during the period from April 2020 to August 2020. After collecting the questionnaires, 258 copies were used as data for the final analysis, and 6 copies with missing responses were excluded.
Results : According to the results of the survey of the occupational therapists’ perception of their own competencies in relation to the projects of the early examination team of the dementia care center, the occupational therapists who participated in the study gave themselves scores of 4 or more points on average in five areas: the elderly and dementia, cognition, activities of daily living, the examination project by the early examination team, and connection with the early examination team’s services. Therefore, the occupational therapists perceive themselves as experts with competencies in the relevant areas. In addition, in the results of the survey regarding the perception of the justification for the occupational therapists’ participation in the projects by the early examination team of the dementia care center, they got scores of 4 or more points on average for the four questions about the justification of the inclusion of occupational therapists in the projects by the early examination team of the dementia care center: cognition and cognitive assessment, and performance of cognition testing through intervention experts; connection with dementia support services through experts with knowledge about the elderly and dementia and follow-up consultation; and the necessity of connection with dementia support services through experts with knowledge about the elderly’s activities of daily living and follow-up consultation. In this way, it determined that they think the experts for the relevant areas must carry out the relevant services. Regarding the perception of the competence of occupational therapists and the justification in relation to the projects by the early examination team according to general characteristics, there was no significant difference.
Conclusion : This study is meaningful in that it presented evidence for the justification for the participation of occupational therapists in the early examination project by the dementia care center.
