‘비-신학’의 틀로서 신학-하기: 급진적 관계성의 실현을 위한 정치신학담론 연구 (Doing Theology with a Framework of “Non-Theology”: In Search of a Political Theology of Radical Relatedness)

초록

본 논문은 객관적이고 보편적인 진리 추구를 기초로 하는 거대 신학담론을 극복하며, 비판과 변혁의 “비-신학”의 틀로서의 신학을 제안하고, 존재론적 강한 신학이 보다 느슨하고 열린 신학이 되어야 함을주장한다. 현재의 정치적 그리고 생태적 위기 가운데 여전히 거대 자본 중심의 사회경제 구조는 여러 폐해를 낳으며 부정, 불안, 불안정한 상황을 지속시키고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 신학의 개방성, 이타성의 실현을 위한 이론적 토대를 마련하여 공동체의 관계성을 실현하는 신학을 구성하는 것은 이제 시대적 요청이 되었다. 무엇보다도 예외가 보편화되고 정당화되는 급박한 현재 상황에서 비판적 틀로서의 신학은 현재 한국 교회가 놓인 아나크로니즘적인 교착 상태에 참여적인 해석학으로서 구체적인 현실 변혁의 힘으로 작용할 수 있을것이다.
어떠한 존재론적 진리 주장도 실천적인 해석보다 우선될 수 없다는것을 주지하며, 동일성의 논리에 의한 인간 이해와 하나님 이해를 비판적으로 극복해야 한다. 사실, 근대적 주체는 동일성의 논리에 의해끊임없이 타자를 배제해가는 가운데 남아있는 정체성으로서, 바티모의 의하면, 그렇게 아르케를 추구하며 개념화하는 논리는 이미 그자체가 폭력적이며, 그 안에 배재를 내포하고 있다. 이러한 상황에서우선 관계성의 실현을 위해, 비-신학의 신학은 주체로 서기 위해 타자는 배제되어야 할 대상이 아니라, 오히려 타자는 존재의 근거로 이해해야 한다는 것을 분명히 하고, 변화의 토대로서 연대의 복합성을인식한다. 이러한 관계성에 기초를 둔 자아 이해와 더불어, 이제까지의 전통적인 신학이 행한 신에 대한 존재론적 추구 그리고 그러한 진리 주장이 지닌 위험을 검토하며, 비판과 변혁을 위해 개방성을 유지하는 열린 체계의 비-신학의 틀을 재구성하는 것이 본 논문의 내용이다.
본 연구가 제안하는 비-신학의 틀로서의 신학은 이제 존재론적 진리주장을 통해 구성된 신학이 타자들에게 암묵적으로 억압의 도구가되어온 현실을 반성하며, 비판과 변화의 틀이 되어 해석학적 참여, 혹은 참여적 해석을 가능하게 할 것이다. 강한 존재론에 대한 비판을통해, 비-신학의 신학은 현재의 전지구적 차원에서 행해지는 초국가적인 자본 그리고 이와 공모하는 남성중심주의에 대해 약자들의 입장을 드러내는 신학 담론의 역할을 할 수 있을 것이다. 이제까지의존재론적 신학이 현상 유지의 의미론을 구축하는 것이라면, 사건으로서 하나님을 이해하는 비-신학의 신학은 기존의 현실에 의미 부여하기보다는 가능성과 연관된 현상 그대로의 것을 드러내는 신학이라 할 수 있다. 이러한 비-신학의 신학적 틀에서, 해석학이 지니게 되는 상대주의의 위험은 현실 참여적 실천을 통해 의미 있게 그리고 끊임없이 교정될 수 있을 것이다, 이러한 맥락에서 비-신학의 신학은구체적인 상황신학으로서 급진적 관계성을 실현하는 책임감 있는온건한 상대주의로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영어초록

This study presents an attempt to reconstruct theology as a non-theological theology based on a variety of social and poli tical analyses of the cultural and political situations. Indeed, after all the deconstructions, as in Heidegger’s and Derrida’s philosophies about the problems of modern theologies, the Christian community demands a different dimension of theology, asking what we do with theology itself. The need to change politically and globally the current critical situation leads us to think critically about the conservative and repetitive theological doctrines and propel the so-called “non-philosophy.” In this regard, Walter Benjamin, the Jewish thinker who speaks of the now-time, the Jetztzeit, and theologians such as John D. Caputo and Catherine Keller will be reexamined in terms of the moment as an edge, an eschatos of possibility.
According to theologian Keller, the secularized messianism of Benjamin’s as a rejudaized version of Paul’s Kairos, incisively elaborates on the spiritually and politically charged now-time.
Thus, this study attempts to articulate the current political situations and elaborate on the now-time which carries a potent political charge and thereby a radial relatedness, i.e., a solidary complexity as the ground of hope for a change through a interdisciplinary conversations. It is clear that non-theology is not the negation of theology. Rather, non-philosophy is the suspension of theological claims to think the real. In other words, non-theology of theology is a kind of device to invent new usages of thought and language that disrupt the conven tional and ontological theology of the real and true. This frame of non-theological theology will provide a critical voice against present political situations, requiring concrete political inven tion toward a radical relationship, togetherness.
Thus, a non-theological frame can be explicated as an objection to a generalization of the so-called real so that an infinite number of theological claims that are no longer mutually exclusive will correspond with any concrete pheno menon. Here, this study articulates Caputo’s theology which seeks to break down what we call as God, applying a more radical hermeneutics of phenomenology. In the frame of non-theology, God can be understood as an event, or what the name conjures or promises in the future. This study argues, as Caputo maintains, that the event exposes God as weak, unstable, and barely functional, putting up a serious challenge to conventional frame of onto-theology. In particular, Benja min’s, and Caputo’s readings of Paul’s theology supports the “weak force” theory, focusing on the core of questions about the relationship between God and being. This study articulate God’s power perfected in the weakness that many not be weak at all with political and theological viewpoints.
A dialectical power in weakness which is articulated in Benjamin’s political philosophy critically reviews the absence of relationship within the conventional onto-theology. This study thus attempts not only deconstruct the traditional frame work of theology based on the ontological theology but also develop a theo-political view, reexamining theological presuppositions and thinking about theology differently in the current anachronistic situation.
