엘리트 싱크로나이즈드 스위밍 선수의 진로 과정 연구 (A Study on Career Cases of Elite Synchronized Swimming Players)

초록

This research performed interview on 11 participants to investigate the experience achieved by synchronized swimming athletes of the national team through their career paths. All of 11 participants of the research have experience being member of national synchronized swimming team and they are actively working as coaches for synchronized swimming athletes. The study aimed to find out what specific motivation and background did they have, what elements affected their career path as a synchronized swimming athletes, what efforts was made in order to become elite synchronized swimming athletes, what difficulties and conflicts they encountered, lastly what supporting element they needed.
The results showed following findings. First, the entrance and background of being synchronized swimming athletes is mainly affected by the influence and support from the parents. Second, participants participated in various domestic and international contests to achieve improvement as synchronized swimming athletes. The influence of the educator is significant in the career path and practice fulfillment. Third, the results showed that the elements of efforts are honor and efforts as athletes. Fourth, the results showed that the element was conflict on the career as an elite synchronized swimming athletes. Therefore, following issues must be implemented based on this research. First, efforts must be made to enlarge the basis of the field which provides opportunities to children to learn about synchronized swimming sports during their childhood. In order to do so, educators must be positioned in appropriate places. Second, advanced system, where synchronized swimming athletes can combine sports and study so that they can prepare for their future career, must be constructed. Third, in order to raise the abilities of the athletes and secure stable number of athletes, improvement on the practice environment and operating system must be processed.
