그로토프스키의 연극론에 따른 전시소통구조에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Communication System of Exhibition through Dramatics of Grotowski)

초록

(연구배경 및 목적) 현재까지 전시 소통은 관객과 전시물의 관계에 발생하는 상호적인 작용으로 이해되었다. 전시 연출 디자인도 관람객에게 초점을 두고 전개되어왔다. 따라서 전시 소통이 협소한 범위로 상정되었고 한계가 있었다. 이에 대한 원인은 전시의 목적이 전시의 본질인 전시물에 있지 않기 때문이다. 따라서 본질에 대한 올바른 이해를 바탕으로 전시의 목적을 바로 세우고 전시 소통을 다시 정의해야 한다. 극연출가 예지 그로토프스키의 연극 이론을 바탕으로 전시의 본질을 탐구하고 전시 소통의 의미와 구조를 재정의하고자 한다. 그로토프스키는 연극의 문제를 극복하기 위하여 연극의 목적, 배우와 관객의 역할과 관계를 탐구하고 연구했다. 이는 현재 전시의 문제점을 극복하고 전시 소통 구조를 확립하는데 방향성을 제시한다. 본 연구는 전시의 본질을 근거로 전시 소통을 재정의하는 것을 목표로 한다. (연구방법) 첫째, 현재의 전시 소통을 재고하고 문제점을 분석한다. 전시와 그로토프스키의 연극론의 관계성을 설명한다. 둘째, 예지 그로토프스키 연극론 고찰을 통해 전시 소통 재정의의 필요성과 관점을 제시한다. 셋째, 그로토프스키의 연극 논리에 근거하여 전시 소통구조를 정의한다. 넷째, 본 연구에서 정의한 전시 소통의 구조를 바탕으로 사례를 분석한다. (결과) 전시 소통에서 가장 중요한 것은 전시물인데 전시 연출이 지나치게 확대되면서 전시물보다 더 우선시되었다. 또한 대부분 전시가 잘못된 가치 체계를 바탕으로 해서 콘텐츠보다는 다른 목적을 두고 있기 때문에 정보가 왜곡되기도 한다. 그러므로 전시에 대한 근본적인 이해부터 재고해야 한다. 전시는 단순하게 정보를 제공하거나 사물을 보여주는 것이 아니라 전시물 자체를 근본으로 의미를 생성하고 전달하는 것이다. 전시의 목적은 사물을 현재 시점에서 가치를 가지도록 하는 것이고 전시는 의미를 탐구하고 가치를 추구하는 과정으로 이해할 수 있다. 전시 연출은 사물에 내재된 의미를 풀어내고 전해야 하며 관람객과 물리적, 정서적으로 경계 없이 만날 수 있도록 환경을 조성해야 한다. (결론) 본 연구는 전시의 본질을 탐구하고 전시 소통의 의미를 정의하고 방향성을 제시하고자 하였다. 전시의 목적은 전시물에 있으며, 전시 소통은 콘텐츠를 탐구하고 담론을 나누는 과정이다. 사물의 의미를 동시대에 공유하고 담론을 형성하여 미래 가치를 지향할 수 있어야 한다.

영어초록

(Background and Purpose) The communication system of exhibitions is comprehended as an interaction between audience and exhibit. The direction of exhibitions progresses with a focus on the audience. The communication system of exhibitions is presumed to be a narrow, limited concept. The reason for this view is that the essence of exhibitions is not based on the exhibit. Therefore, it is necessary to establish the purpose of exhibitions and redefine the communication system. Based on the dramatics of Grotowski, this study analyzed the essence of exhibitions as well as redefined its meaning and structure. Grotowski studied the relation between audiences and actors to propose solutions to problems in theater. His study is helpful to address the problems in present exhibitions and establish the communication system of the same. This study aimed to redefine the communication system of exhibitions according to its essence. (Method) First, the present communication system of exhibitions is reconsidered, and the problems clearly stated. The relationship between exhibitions and the theatrical theory of Grotowsky is described to ascertain validity. Second, the dramatics of Grotowski is explored, and the need for redefining the concept of communication system is proposed. Third, the communication system of exhibitions is defined based on the dramatics of Grotowski. Lastly, case studies of exhibition communication systems were conducted. (Results) Although the exhibit is the most important in the communication of it, the presentation is expanded excessively and overwhelms it. A number of exhibitions are based on an erroneous value system, distorting information. Thus, the fundamental understanding has to be reconsidered. An exhibition does not offer information not show; it generates and delivers meaning based on the exhibit itself. The purpose of an exhibition is for the audience to perceive value in the real, present time. The exhibition is understood as a process toward research significance and pursuit of value. It is necessary for the direction of the exhibition to disclose implicit meanings and deliver them. The display environment is made up to be endless, physically and psychologically. (Conclusions) This study aimed to shed light on the essence of the exhibition and to redefine the meaning of communication. Moreover, the orientation for it is suggested. The exhibition is founded on the exhibit. The communication of the exhibition is a process in that the contents are explored and used in discourse. The meaning of the exhibit is shared, and discourse is formed; as such, the future value would be suggested.
