사용자 경험 디자인 방법론에 근거한아파트단지 내 어린이놀이터 개선방안에 관한 다학제적 연구 (A multidisciplinary study on the improvement plan of apartment complex playground based on the user experience design methodology)

초록

본 연구는 현재 국내의 대표적인 주거유형으로 자리 잡고 있는 아파트 단지 내에 설치된 어린이놀이터 디자인 시 사용자 고려가 미흡하다는 문제의식에서 출발하였다. 아파트 놀이터를 대상으로 사용자 경험 디자인 수법을 적용하여 사례분석하고 그 결과를 바탕으로 개선점을 제시하며 향후 아파트 단지 놀이터 및 놀이시설 계획에 기초자료를 제시한다는 목적으로 진행하였다.
연구방법과 결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저 문헌연구를 통해 아파트 단지 내 어린이 놀이터, 사용자 경험 디자인 방법과 페르소나에 관한 내용을 고찰하였다. 그리고 인터넷과 문헌검색을 통해 세대 수, 소득수준, 준공시기, 소재지가 유사한 두 단지를 선정하여 놀이터 환경요소와 현황, 주요 사용자를 파악하였다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구의 페르소나를 의사표현이 가능한 유아, 초등학생, 유아를 동반한 여성, 유아를 동반한 노인의 네 가지로 설정한 후, 각 페르소나 별로 인적사항 및 개인특성, 놀이터에서의 경험요소, 요구사항을 기술하고, 그 내용을 종합하여 개선방안을 도출하고자 하였다.
본 연구를 통해 도출한 결론은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 공급자 위주의 놀이터 및 놀이시설 배치의 경향에서 벗어나 사용자의 행태와 니즈가 고려된 놀이터 계획이 필요하다. 둘째, 주 사용자인 어린이의 경우 상상력과 창의력을 발휘할 수 있도록 더욱 다양한 놀이시설이 갖추어져야 하고, 낙상 등의 안전사고가 발생하지 않도록 연령별로 영역을 분리하는 등의 계획적 접근이 필요하다. 셋째, 어린이 뿐 아니라 다양한 유형의 보호자의 특성을 고려하여야 한다. 벤치와 그늘, 화장실, 음수대, 간단한 수도시설, 유모차 보관공간 등이 설치되면 더욱 편리하게 놀이터를 이용할 수 있을 것이므로, 보호자의 이용행태와 요구사항을 파악하는 작업이 선행되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.
본 연구는 ‘놀이터’라는 물리적 환경의 가장 중요한 요소는 ‘사용자’라는 점에 착안하여, 사용자 경험 디자인 방법론 중 페르소나 기법을 적용한 다학제적 연구라는 의의를 지닌다. 이를 통해 사용자가 더욱 중요시되는 아파트 놀이터 계획의 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 향후 후속 연구에서는 폭넓고 객관적인 페르소나를 설정하고, 다양한 융·복합적 연구방법을 적용함으로써, 사용자의 입장과 요구사항이 충분히 반영된 아파트 놀이터 계획의 참고자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.

영어초록

This study started from the awareness of a problem that consideration of users is insufficient when making a design of children’s playground installed in an apartment complex, which is getting established as a representative housing type in Korea at present. To this end, this study conducted research with the intention of presenting improvement points on the basis of the case analysis result through the application of user experience design technique targeting the playground in an apartment complex, and also presenting basic data on apartment-complex playground & playing facilities planning for the time to come.
The research method and results are as follows: First, through literature research, this study considered the contents on a children’s playground in the premises of an apartment complex, user experience design method and a persona. In addition, this study grasped playground environmental elements & status and major users by selecting two apartment complexes, whose number of households, income level, completion period, location were similar through bibliographic search.
On the basis of this, this study set up the personae of this research as four sorts like an infant available for communication, elementary school student, woman accompanied by an infant, and senior citizen accompanied by an infant, and then, this study intended to deduct an improvement plan by describing personal information & personal traits by persona, experience elements at a playground, and requirements, and putting together general contents.
The conclusion deducted through this research is as follows: First, it’s necessary to do playground planning in the light of user behavior & needs away from the tendency for a supplier-oriented positioning of playgrounds and playing facilities.
Second, it is necessary that more diverse playing facilities should be equipped so that children as a main user can display imagination and creativity; further, required is a planned approach like separation of areas by age lest there should be a safety accident such as a hurt from a fall, etc.
Third, it is definitely necessary to take account of not only children but also the traits of guardians of diverse types. Installation of benches, shade, toilet, drinking fountain, simplified water service, and stroller storage space, etc. will make it possible for users to more conveniently use a playground; in this context, it is thought that the work on grasping a guardian’s use behavior & requirements should be preceded.
With the perception that the most vital element in physical environment of a ‘playground’ is the very ‘user’, this study has the significance in that it is a multidisciplinary research through the application of the persona technique among the user experience design methodologies. Through this process, this study intended to present the direction of apartment-complex playground planning, in which a user is considered more important.
This study hopes that this research result could be used as reference data on apartment-complex playground planning, in which a user position & requirements are adequately reflected, by setting an extensive, objective persona applying diverse convergence research methods in the future follow-up researches.
