초록

『사랑의 기쁨』(Amoris Laetitia)은 2016년에 발표된 프란치스코 교황의 권고이다. 이 권고는 “가정 안에서 체험하는 사랑의 기쁨”(1항)을 그 목적으로 하면서 “가정이 혼인성사의 은총에 힘입어 가정 사목의 으뜸 주체가 되어, 특히 ‘부부와 가정, 가정 교회의 기쁨의 증언’을 하여야 한다고 강조”(200항)했다.
가정 안의 사랑의 기쁨에 대한 프란치스코 교황의 성찰에서 우리가 주목해야 할 것은 ‘혼인성사’의 참된 의미를 재인식하는 것이다. 그는 현대 가정의 여러 문제들을 종합적으로 바라보면서, 부부가 갖는 모든 어려움들을 극복하고 하느님께서 약속하신 친교와 사랑의 충만함을 찾기 위해서는 결국 부부가 하느님 사랑 안에서 하나를 이루는 ‘혼인성사’로 되돌아가야 하며, 혼인성사에 담긴 신비를 이해해야 한다고 하였다.
‘혼인의 신비’는 “인간의 차원에서 이루어지면서도 성사로 거룩해지는 성적 결합은 부부가 은총의 삶으로 성장하는 길”(74항)이다. 곧 인간의 차원에서 인간의 몸이 단순히 육적인 것이 아니며, 하느님 안에서 그리고 다른 사람과의 관계 안에서 자신을 발견하는 도구임을 인식해야 함을 의미한다. 성사적으로, 또 성적으로 몸은 하느님의 은총과 애정을 담아내고 세상을 향해 그 사랑을 드러내는 가시적 표징이며, 인격적 친교를 위한 선물이고, 성과 사랑의 표현임을 재확인하는 것이다. 나아가 ‘혼인의 신비’는 몸을 통해 드러나는 인간이 자신의 존재론적 가치를 이해하고 타인의 존재를 존중하며, 두 사람이 하나가 되는 친교 안에서 ‘새로운 생명’이라는 선물을 낳고 양육하면서 인격적 공동체를 완성한다는 의미이다.
현실의 가정을 바라보는 교황의 성찰은 매우 구체적이고 현실적이며 날카롭다. 그래서 『사랑의 기쁨』이 담고 있는 가정에 대한 교황의 이해는 넓고 깊다. 그것은 무엇보다 현대 가정을 위한 교황의 노력과 애정이 교회가 진중하게 현실의 가정을 바라보고 듣고 대화하도록 하였기 때문이다. 그리고 그 스스로 다양한 가정의 목소리를 들으면서 가정의 현실을 담아내고 그들에게 격려와 도움을 주기 위해 다양하고 복잡한 주제들을 도덕적, 교리적, 영적, 사목적 측면에서 수집하고 성찰하였기 때문이다. 따라서 『사랑의 기쁨』은 그 연구의 종합이며 현대 가정 사목을 위한 지침이라고 할 수 있다.
『사랑의 기쁨』은 교회 밖의 가정에게도 열려 있다. 이 권고에 담긴 다양한 주제들은 모든 가정에 공통된 것이며, 모든 가정이 서로를 이해하고 사랑과 기쁨을 나누고, 현실의 어려움을 극복하면서 완성하는 건강한 가정 공동체를 원하기 때문이다. 가정의 기쁨이 곧 교회의 기쁨이며 동시에 세상의 모든 가정을 변화시켜 주는 기쁨이다. 이것이 오늘의 가정을 바라보는 프란치스코 교황의 권고이다.

영어초록

Amoris Laetitia is the apostolic exhortation promulgated in 2016. In this text Pope Francis states that for Christian families “The Joy of Love experienced by families is also the joy of the Church”(n. 1), he emphasized that “Christian families, by the grace of the sacrament of matrimony, are the principal agents of the family apostolate, above all through ‘their joy-filled witness as domestic churches’”(n. 200).
In the Pope’s consideration regarding the joy of love in the family, what we must take into account is a re-recognition of the true meaning of the ‘sacrament of matrimony’. Pope Francis said that to overcome all difficulties that the couple have and to find the fullness of love and communion that was promised by God, the married couple have to return to the nuptial sacrament that makes them become unity in the love of God and they have to understand the mystery in the nuptial sacrament.
The ‘nuptial mystery’ is “Sexual union, lovingly experienced and santified by the sacrament, is in turn a path of growth in the life of grace for the couple.”(n. 74). That is to say, is seen that the human body is not only a bodily object, but it must be considered that the human body itself is the agent for discovering human identity itself in relation to other persons and God. Through the body, as a sacrament and sexuality, the people have to reaffirm that the body carries God’s grace and affection, a visible sign the reveals God’s love toward the world, a gift for personal communion in the family and an expression of love and sexuality between a married couple. All this is the meaning of the nuptial mystery. In the nuptial mystery the human person understand his/her essential value and respect for the existence of the other. In the communion of the married couple welcome a new life as a gift and educate it, in the end they complete the personal community with this gift.
The consideration of Pope Francis who looks at today’s families is very concrete, real and acute. So in Amoris Laetitia the understanding of Pope Francis for families is profound and broad. For a long time Pope Francis has committed himself so that the Church sincerely looks at, the situations of the families, listens to their voices and communicates with them. The Pope himself, listening to the different voices of the families, observes their real problems, gave them adequate help. In addition, the Pope, to encourage families, has accepted the data from the moral, dogmatic and pastoral dimensions and analyzed them. The apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia, therefore, is the synthesis of the study and the pastoral directives for today’s families.
I believe that the apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia is also for families outside the Church, because the various topics discussed are common to all non-Christian families. In fact every family wants to love each other, share their joys, overcome their difficulties and want a healthy family community. The joy of the family is even that of the joy of Church and at the same time that joy which brings to the present family a change to fulfill the true love in the family. This is the exhortation of Pope Francis for today’s family.
