친환경 장례 방법 기반 도심형 장사시설 설계 연구 (A Study on the Urban Complex Funeral Facilities Based on Sustainable Methods)

초록

(연구 배경 및 목적) 오늘날 우리나라의 장사시설은 여러 문제를 안고 있다. 화장로의 부족과 국토의 묘지화, 성묫길의 교통대란과 같은 문제들은 오래전부터 꾸준히 제기되어 왔던 사항들이지만, 이에 대한 해결책은 여전히 부재한 실정이다. 그러나 2050년도 이후까지 사망자 수가 꾸준히 증가할 것으로 예측되는 현재, 장사시설과 관련한 문제는 다시금 그 시급성이 재조명되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 배경 아래 장사시설을 둘러싼 문제와 그 해결 방안을 종합하고 이를 바탕으로 구체적인 설계안을 제안하고자 한다. (연구 방법) 선행연구 및 매체를 통해 파악한 장사시설의 문제 현황을 종합하여 6가지로 정리하고 다시 이에 대응하는 6가지 해결 방안을 수립했다. 이어서 해결 방안의 도입에 따른 공간계획을 검토하고 보다 구체적인 공간전략을 도출하기 위해 선례 분석을 진행하였다. 이상의 내용을 바탕으로 적합지 선정을 위한 기준을 4가지로 정리한 후, 공간정보서비스와 답사를 통해 기준에 부합하는 적합지를 선정하였다. 선정된 적합지의 특성을 파악하기 위해 자연환경 및 인문환경 분석을 진행하였고 도출된 내용에 근거하여 구체적인 설계안을 작성하였다. (결과) 장사시설을 둘러싼 주요 문제는 일상과의 분리 및 추모문화의 변질, 님비현상 및 양적 부족, 시설의 종합화에 따른 비대화, 교통집중, 안치 시설의 공간누증, 화장로의 환경 문제의 6가지로 정리했으며, 이에 대응하여 복합화 및 공원화, 친환경 시신 처리방식의 도입, 유수식 자연장 도입, 시설의 부분적 종합화, 소규모 분산배치, 교통 접근성 개선의 6가지 해결 방안을 수립했다. 선례 분석을 통해서는 사용자에 따른 공간별 동선 분리, 매개 공간을 중심으로 이루어지는 공간의 구획 및 연결, 외부공간을 중심으로 이루어지는 상징 체계 구성과 같은 공간전략에 더해 체험의 구조를 바탕으로 비일상성의 연출 방식을 확인할 수 있었다. 적합지 탐색 결과 최종적으로 선정된 곳은 우이역에 인접한 하천 복개지이며, 이상의 내용을 종합하여 수분 해장 공간, 메모리얼 공간, 복합시설 공간의 3가지 주요 공간으로 구성된 계획안을 작성하였다. (결론) 오늘날 국내 장사시설과 관련하여 다양한 문제들이 산재해 있으나, 그 인과 관계를 고려했을 때, 가장 핵심적인 문제는 일상과의 분리 및 추모문화의 변질이라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 장사시설을 둘러싼 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 장사시설의 일상적 장소화가 이루어져야 하며, 이를 위해 물리적 차원의 접근성 개선뿐만 아니라, 인지적·심리적 차원의 접근성 개선을 위한 노력 또한 필요하다.

영어초록

(Background and Purpose) Funeral facilities in Korea today face many problems. Problems such as the shortage of crematorium, the graveyardization of the country, and the traffic congestion on the way to the grave have been steadily raised for a long time, but there is still no solution to this. But now that the number of deaths is expected to increase steadily until after 2050, the issue of related to funeral facilities is being re-examined. Under this background, this study attempts to synthesize the problems surrounding funeral facilities and their solutions and to propose specific design plans based on these. (Method) The problems in funeral facilities identified through prior research and media was summarized into six types, and six solutions were established to respond to them. Following the solution's introduction, a precedent analysis was conducted to assess the spatial plan and formulate a more specific spatial strategy. Four criteria were established, for selecting an appropriate site, which was then selected using spatial information services and exploration. Natural and human environment analysis was conducted to identify the characteristics of the selected site, and a specific design plan was prepared based on the derived contents. (Results) The main problems surrounding funeral facilities were summarized in six categories: separation from daily life and deterioration of memorial culture, NIMBY and quantitative shortage, large scale due to the integration of facilities, traffic congestion, "space accumulation of settlement facilities," and "environmental problems of crematoriums," and in response, six solutions were established: complexation and Park making, introduction of eco-friendly body treatment methods, introduction of flowing water type burial method, partial integration of facilities, small distributed deployment, and improvement of transportation accessibility. In addition to spatial strategies such as separation of circulation according to user type, division and connection of spaces centered around mediated spaces, and composition of symbolic systems centered around external spaces, the method of directing non-dailiness was confirmed through precedent analysis. As a result of the search for the suitable site, a river cover site adjacent to Ui Station was selected, and a plan was prepared consisting of three main spaces: an alkaline hydrolysis funeral space, a memorial space, and a complex space. (Conclusions) Today, there are various problems related to domestic funeral facilities, but considering the causal relationship, the most important problem is separation from daily life and deterioration of memorial culture. Therefore, to solve the problem surrounding the funeral facility, being the daily location of the funeral facility must be made, and to this end, efforts are needed not only to improve accessibility at the physical level, but also to improve accessibility at the cognitive and psychological level.
