초록

본 연구는 라반의 움직임 분석(Laban Movement Analysis: LMA) 이론을 활용한 라반 움직임 표현 프로그램을 저소득층 아동들에게 적용시켜 보고 이것이 아동의 자기표현 능력향상에 효과가 있는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 저소득층 아동들은 중산층의 아동들에 비하여경제적 빈곤이나 부모의 보살핌의 결핍 등의 불리한 환경으로 인하여 물질적, 사회적, 심리적 결핍을 경험하며 성장한다. 선행연구에서는 이러한 빈곤의 특성으로 인하여 저소득층 아동들은 공격적이거나 소극적인 자기표현의 특징을 보인다고 지적해왔다. 이미 음악, 미술, 언어 분야에서 이러한 저소득층 아동들의 자기표현 능력 개발에 관한 프로그램이 개발되고있으며 그 효과에 관한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 하지만 신체움직임 활동을 통한 자기표현능력 개발에 관한 연구를 찾아볼 수 없었으며 내적표현의 수단이 되는 움직임을 통한 자기표현 능력 개발을 위한 프로그램은 필요하다고 본다. 특히, 신체활동 및 창작무용 분야에서중요한 이론으로 알려져 있는 라반의 움직임 분석은 내적상태와 관계한 움직임의 개념들을다루므로 저소득층 아동의 자기표현 개발에 효과적인 이론적 근거를 제시할 수 있다.
이에 본 연구에서는 라반 움직임 분석 이론을 근거로 개발된 라반 움직임 표현 프로그램을 서울시 소재 소망복지관 방과 후 교실의 초등학생 1,2학년 중 저소득층 아동 총 16명에게 적용시켜보았다. 이 연구의 자료수집 및 분석은 약 5개월 동안 총 8차시의 수업을바탕으로 관찰 및 면담을 통하여 이루어졌으며 아동들의 프로그램에 대한 흥미도와 자기표현 방식에 어떠한 변화가 있었는지 알아보았다.
이와 같은 연구 절차를 통하여 다음과 같은 결과를 도출할 수 있었다. 첫째, 아동들은자신의 신체에 대하여 인식함과 동시에 움직임을 구성하는 다양한 요소를 발견 할 수 있었다. 특히, 신체의 다양한 부분들을 움직임 표현의 도구로 적극적으로 사용하였으며 개성적이고 독창적인 움직임을 창작하였다. 둘째, 움직임을 통해 자신의 생각과 느낌을 표현할뿐 아니라 움직임에서 연상되는 이미지들을 언어로 표현하기도 하였다. 이러한 움직임 및언어를 통한 자신의 감정표현은 라반의 움직임 분석의 요소 중, 에포트를 이용한 수업에서자주 나타났다. 셋째, 프로그램 참가자 중, 소극적인 성향을 보이는 아동들도 점차 신체표현에 흥미를 보였다. 라반 움직임 분석의 다양한 구성요소와 아이들이 흥미를 가질만한수업 내용이 움직임 표현에 대한 자신감을 갖게 했으며 이를 움직임과 언어를 통해 표현할 수 있었다. 넷째, 아이들은 자신만의 독특한 움직임을 만듦으로써 존재감과 독자성을인식하게 되었으며, 이를 통해 타인을 인정하고 배려하는 방법을 배우게 되었다. 본 프로그램은 위와 같은 효과와 더불어 장소와 대상인원의 문제점이 나타나기도 했다. 이는 차후복지관과 본 연구자들의 논의를 거쳐 개선되어야 할 것이다.
본 연구를 통하여 불리한 환경 속에의 저소득층 아동들도 움직임 표현 교육을 통해 자신의 감정과 생각을 긍정적이고 개성있게 표현하고 이를 통해 타인과 안정적인 관계를 유지할 수 있음을 발견하였다. 또한 본 프로그램에 이론적 근거로 사용되었던 라반의 움직임분석 이론이 아동의 신체 활동 및 움직임 교육에 폭 넓게 적용될 수 있는 가능성을 확인하였다. 마지막으로 저소득층 아동들의 삶의 질을 변화시킬 수 있는 다양한 방법론을 통한프로그램의 개발과 더불어 이들에게 다양한 교육의 기회를 제공할 것을 제안해본다.

영어초록

The research sees the effect of Laban Movement Expression Program which uses Laban Movement Analysis(LMA) and it will apply to the low-income group children. Then it shows that the program will contribute to the improvement of self-expression ability of the low-income group children. Compare to the middle classes children, the low-income group children undergo economic poverty or lack of love from their parents with the disadvantageous environment. Due to these reasons, they grow and experience in material, social, psychological scarcity. From preceding research shows that the low income group children have a tendency to aggressive or passive characteristics because of this. The program regarding to the development of self expression ability of the low income group children from music, the fine arts and language field is developed and several kinds of researches with the effect are become accomplished. But there are not any studies about self-expression ability development through physical activities. Hence it leads to the conclusion that it is necessary to develop the program for the self-expression ability through the movement in which the means of the inner expression Specially, LMA is become known as the theory which is important from physical activity and creative dance and treats important movement concepts, related with an inner condition. Also LMA can presents an effective theoretical ground in own expression development of the low income group children.
In this research, Laban Movement Expression Program, which based on the LMA theory, applies to low-income group children, total 16 people in elementary student 1,2 grades of the classrooms after school in Seoul Somang communicare.
Collection of data and analysis of this research were done by observation and interviews directly and the experiments conducts how the interests and way of expressions are changed against the program with children for 5 months with 8th classes.
Afterwards, the conclusion draws following. First, children recognize the body of oneself and discover various elements which composes the movement.
Specially, various elements of the body are used as a tool of movement expression and creative an individual and originative motions. Second, through the movements children can show not only their thoughts and impression of oneself but language with the images which are associated with the movement. Like this kinds of sentimental expression of oneself with using the body and language appears in the class of Effort especially. Thirdly, among the program participants, even the passive children revealed their interests gradually in body expression Various components of LMA and classes which draw the interests give confidence against the self-expression and ultimately these abilities can express by using movement and langauge. Lastly, children recognized their existence and uniqueness with creating their own motions. and through this activity, they learn how to care and acknowledge to others. However, the place and the number of persons which it studied can be pointed out as problems. Hence this problems should be improved through the discussion with the researchers and the communicare .
This research shows that even the low-income group children in disadvantageous environments can express their emotions and thoughts affirmatively and creatively. Thought this program, they can maintain the stable relationship with others. Also it confirmed the possibility LMA theory could be applied widely in the physical activity of the children education Finally it can be suggested that the development of various methodological program can improve the quality of life in lower-income children and ultimately it will provide the chance of the education to the lower-income group.
