초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of self-etesem of low-income student athletes on sports deviance, and to verify the moderated mediation effect of team commitment and self-management.
Method: In this study, 386 low-income student athletes (355 males and 51 females) who got the scholarship from Seoul metropolitan city were selected. For data analyses, the SPSS 25.0 program and the AMOS 25.0 program were used. Factor analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, frequency analysis, and correlation analysis were conducted. Model 7 of PROCESS Macro was utilized to verify the mediated effect of team commitment and the moderated mediation effect of self-management. The significant level of hypothesis verification was set-up as α=.05.
Results: Findings are as follows: First, the self-esteem of low-income student athletes had no significant direct effect on sports deviance (p>.05). Second, the self-esteem had a positive effect on team comitment (p<.001), and team commitment had a negative effect on sports deviance (p<.001). In other words, team commitment fully mediated the relationship between the self-esteem and sports deviance of low-income student athletes. Third, self-management moderated the mediating effect of team commitment in the relationship of self-esteem and sports deviance.
Conclusion: In summary, team commitment of low-income student athletes fluly mediated the relationship between self-esteem and sports deviance. Self-management moderated the relationship between self-esteem and team commitment. In other words, the higher self-management, the higher the team commitment due to increased self-esteem, which reduces sports deviance.
