초록

제문은 故人을 추모하는 祭儀에 사용되며 죽음이라는 현실적인 요소와 결부되어 실생활과 밀접한 관련을 갖는다. 저명한 문인과 관련된 제문은 문인의 문집에 실려 전해지기도 하며, 혈연이나 학맥으로 결속된 집단에서는 선대 문인의 제문을 선별하여 집약ㆍ수록하기도 한다.
제문 選集인 祭文抄는 문인의 문집과는 별개의 유형으로 전해지며 ‘抄’라는 양식에 따라 필사자에 의해 선별된 제문이 주를 이룬다. 編纂은 문인의 제자 또는 문중에서 후손이 집록하기도 하는데 간혹 필사자의 성향에 따라 詩나 유명 문인의 글, 생활 편의를 위한 잡록이 함께 실리기도 한다.
편찬 목적에 따라 대표성을 띠는 제문초를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 김창협의 제문을 선집한 『農巖祭文抄』는 『農巖集』에 실린 48편의 제문과 비교하면, 18편이 누락되어 채록되어 있다. 이 제문초는 김창협의 후인이나 제자가 김창협의 제문을 필사한 것으로, 필사자 본인이 지은 제문 2편을 끝부분에 실어 놓았다. 『歷代祭文抄選』은 제문의 전범이라 할 수 있는 대가들의 제문을 선별하여 필사한 것으로 작자의 이름, 용어나 낱글자, 해당 문장의 상ㆍ하단에 세주 형태로 간단한 설명을 부기하여 내용 이해를 돕고 있다. 문장가로 저명한 陶淵明ㆍ韓愈ㆍ歐陽脩ㆍ蘇軾 등이 지은 제문들을 4언의 운문과 산문 형식을 구분하지 않고 시기별로 정리해 놓았다.
『嘉林四稿祭文抄選』은 李瑞胄와 그의 사촌 아우 李德胄를 비롯한 문중 내의 문인이 지은 제문을 모은 것이며, 李仁行의 제문을 선집한 『丁巳年祭文抄』는 이인행의 후손 李命杰이 문중에 전해지던 선대의 제문들을 집록하여 필사한 것으로, 당시 지방 유림들의 여러 작품이 망라되어 있어 인물 및 문중 간의 교유를 파악하기에 좋은 자료가 된다.
제문초는 수록 양상에 따라 문장력 성취를 위한 목적과 문중 간 결속을 다지기 위한 목적으로 나눌 수 있다. 「農巖祭文抄」는 남에게 公示하기 위한 목적으로 선집한 것이 아니라 개인적인 글쓰기 연습을 위해 김창협의 제문을 채록한 것이다. 또 「歷代祭文抄選」은 제문의 전범을 채록하고 세주를 달아 참조할 수 있도록 하여, 문장력 습득을 위한 전형적인 구성을 보여주고 있다.
작자의 관계망이 비교적 잘 드러나 있는 「嘉林四稿祭文抄選」과 『丁巳年祭文抄』는 혈연으로 결속된 문중의 유대를 재확인하고 강화하기 위한 목적으로 선집한 것이다. 특히 『丁巳年祭文抄』에는 문중 내 친족에 대한 제문뿐만 아니라 다른 문중의 인물에 대한 제문과 그 문중으로부터 다시 받은 제문이 많은 비중을 차지하고 있어, 혈연 및 사우를 중심으로 형성된 문인 네트워크와 소위 ‘글빚’을 매개로 한 문중 제문 특유의 채무적 성격 또한 포함되어 있다.

영어초록

The funeral oration is used for memorial rites(祭儀) in remembrance of the deceased(故人) and it is closely related to real life in connection with the realistic element of death. A funeral oration related to well-known writers are often written and conveyed in the literary collection of writers, and in the groups bound to a blood relation and an academic line, the funeral oration of an ancestral writer is selected to be intergrated and contained.
Funeral oration selection(祭文抄), the collection(選集) of a funeral oration is handed down as a distinct type from the literary collection of a writer and consists mainly of the funeral oration selected by a transcriber according to the style of 'selection(抄)'. Compilation is collected and written by the disciple of a writer or the descendant in the family, but sometimes depending on the tendency of a transcriber, there are also documents containing poems, writings by famous writers, and miscellaneous records for convenience of living.
In accordance with the purpose of compilation, the following are the types of funeral oration selection that are representative. In the case of 『Nongam funeral oration selection(農巖祭文抄)』, which is an collection of the funeral oration of Kim Chang-hyeop, there are 18 records missing compared to 48 articles that contain 『Nongamjip(農巖集)』 and the second volume where a posterity or student of Kim Chang-hyeop transcribed his funeral oration and the transcriber himself created, was presented at the end of it. In case of 『Ancient funeral oration selection(歷代祭文抄選)』 the funeral orations of great masters, the classic of funeral orations were selected and transcribed and the name of the author, word or letter, and a brief description in the shape of annotations in detail at the top and bottom of the sentence are added to help understand the contents. The funeral orations written by Do Yeon-myeong(陶淵明), Han Yu(韓愈), Gu Yang-suh, and So Sik(蘇軾) were arranged in chronological order, without distinguishing four-letter verse and prose style here.
『Garimsago funeral oration selection(嘉林四稿祭文抄選)』 is a collection of funeral orations written by writers within the family including Lee Seo-ju(李瑞胄) and his cousin younger brother Lee Deok-joo(李德胄). 『Jeongsanyeon funeral oration selection(丁巳年祭文抄)』, the selection of Lee In-haeng(李仁行)'s funeral oration where Lee Myeong-geol(李命杰), a descendant of Lee In-haeng, collected and transcribed people's funeral orations handed down in his family, contains several works of local Confucian scholars at that time, making it a good source of understanding the exchanges between the figures and the family.
According to the pattern of including, funeral oration selection can be devided into the purpose of achieving sentence power and the purpose of strengthening bonds between families. 「Nongam funeral oration selection(農巖祭文抄)」 recorded the funeral oration of Kim Chang-hyeop not for the purpose of public announcement, but for the personal writing practice. 「Ancient funeral oration selection(歷代祭文抄選)」 can be referred to as compilations and annotations in detail of the classic of the funeral oration, indicating that it is a typical structure for learning the setence power. 『Garimseogo funeral oration selection(嘉林四稿祭文抄選)』 and 『Jeongsanyeon funeral oration selection(丁巳年祭文抄)』, in which the author's relationship network is relatively expressed well, was collected for the purpose of confirming the bonds of the the united family and strengthening the solidarity. In particular, 『Jeongsanyeon funeral oration selection(丁巳年祭文抄)』 contains a large proportion of not only the funeral oration about relatives within the familydoor, but also the funeral oration about people in other family and the funeral oration received again from that family, which reveals the unique debt-ridden nature of family funeral oration, a network of writers and so-called "the debt fot writing(Gulbit)," which revolves around blood ties and friends.
