발달장애인 신앙공동체의 예배 본질에 따른 실천적 목회 (A Study on Practical Ministry according to the Nature of Worship in a Faith Community for People with Developmental Disabilities)

초록

발달장애인은 표현과 소통에 어려움이 있다. 하지만 신앙적 차원에서 하나님의 계시는 인간의 인의적인 성과로 성취되는 것이 아니기 때문에 인간의 지능과 어떤 심리적 지수와 상관없이 신앙공동체에서 하나님의 은혜는 실재한다. 그럼에도 불구하고 예배에 있는 인간의 응답은 인간의 지능과 감수성, 정서적 상태와 밀접한 관계를 갖고 예배 양식을 구체화 할 수 있기 때문에 이에 따른 실제적인 예배 신학적 접근이 필요하다. 이에 따라 발달장애인은 비장애인과 비교하여 지능이 낮고 자폐 성향을 동반할 수 있어서 신앙공동체는 이들과 함께 하는 예배에서 특별한 양식을 고려할 수 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 예배 본질에 있어서 발달장애인이 하나님께 나아가는 예배는 비장애인의 예배와 동일한 속성을 갖는다. 발달장애인은 사회적으로 보호받아야 하는 약자로 인식될 수 있으나 신앙적 가치나 예배자의 정체성에서는 약자나 부족한 어떤 존재가 아니다. 단지 발달장애인의 이해도와 표현 그리고 예배에 있어서 응답적인 차원의 일반적인 소통에 연약한 부분들이 드러날 수 있을 뿐이다. 예배는 인간의 지, 정, 의가 함께 활동하여 상호 교류되는 영적 사건이기 때문에 신앙공동체의 목회적 차원에서 발달장애인의 지능 수준과 두뇌를 통한 이해의 반응을 고려하는 것은 이들을 위한 배려와 섬김이 된다.
한편, 예배에는 신비가 뒤따른다. 예배에 신비적 요소가 있다고 하여서 발달장애인 신앙공동체의 예배를 위하여 일반적이고 보편적인 인간의 노력이 불필요하다는 것을 의미하는 것은 아니다. 그렇기 때문에 예배에 있어서 발달장애인에게 합리적 이성과 두뇌의 활동 및 지능적 요소들을 위하여 신앙공동체가 협력하는 것은 매우 의미 있는 소통으로 작용될 수 있다. 동시에 기억해야 할 것은 발달장애인과 비장애인이 함께 하는 신앙공동체는 일반 사회적 통념이나 보편타당한 합리성에만 의존해서는 기독교 예배 본질의 완성에 이를 수 없다는 것을 인식하는 것이다.

영어초록

People with developmental disabilities show vulnerabilities in expression and communication. However, at the level of faith, God's revelation is not an area that is achieved through human efforts, so it exists in the faith community as God's grace, regardless of human intelligence or any psychological index. Nevertheless, since human responses in worship are closely related to human intelligence, sensitivity, and emotional state and can shape the worship style, a practical theological approach to worship is necessary. Accordingly, because people with developmental disabilities have lower intelligence and may have autistic tendencies compared to people without disabilities, the faith community can consider special styles in worship with them. However, in terms of the essence of worship, the worship in which people with developmental disabilities approach God have the same characteristics as the worship of people without disabilities. People with developmental disabilities may be perceived as socially weak and need to be protected, but they are not weak or lacking in religious values or identity as worshipers. It is only that weaknesses in general communication at a responsive level can be revealed in the expression and worship of people with developmental disabilities. Worship is a spiritual event in which human intelligence, emotion, and righteousness work together and interact with each other. Therefore, at the pastoral level of the faith community, considering the level of intelligence of people with developmental disabilities and the responses of understanding through the brain becomes consideration and service for them. Even if the faith community adjusts the level of understanding for mutual communication from the perspective of people with developmental disabilities and uses various methods to serve them, they sometimes experience communication difficulties from the perspective of non-disabled people.
There is a mystical element to worship. However, this meaning does not mean that general social human efforts are unnecessary for the worship of the faith community of people with developmental disabilities. Rational reason, brain activity, and intellectual elements are not unnecessary for people with developmental disabilities in worship, and can be positioned as mechanisms of meaningful communication. At the same time, the point to remember is that the faith communities of people with developmental disabilities and non-disabled people need to recognize that worship cannot be completed through general social logic or rationality alone.
