학습공동체에서 실행공동체(CoP)로: 교사 배구동호회의 사회적 자본 형성과 실천 (From the Learning Community to the Community of Practice(CoP): Social Capital Formation and Practice of Teachers' Volleyball Club)

초록

This study attempted to examine potential of the teachers’ volleyball club as the community of practice(CoP). Participation in the teachers’ volleyball club means the practice of social capital acquired in an activity theme area as the community of practice. This study intended to investigate it at the structural, the relational and the cognitive level, through qualitative case studies, from the perspective of the social capital acquisition structure. To this end, interviews with seven participants in the teachers’ volleyball club were implemented, from the perspective specific to the community of practice based on the formation of social capital. The findings are as follows(recommendation from a fellow teacher and join it by searching the internet) at the structural level(share skills and knowledge of it, build trust through affirmative human relations, and expand knowledge of it) at the relational level (volleyball is attractive, it changes me and the volleyball class makes students so excited) at the cognitive level. In conclusion, sports clubs, the community of practice may be operated as an alternative approach to the development of teachers’ capability and knowledge management for practice, in the knowledge-based society. This has an implication, in that it provides the foundation for developing the community of practice, from learning communal characteristics sports clubs generally have, by drawing practical features for activating the process in which knowledge is created and shared, through the community of practice with the theme of volleyball.
