辭說時調와 淸代 時調의 언술방식과 주제적 지향 비교 (A Comparative Study of Saseol-sijo andChinese Sijo in Qing Dynasty -on the Discourse Form and the Thematic Orientation-)

초록

한국 고유의 장르인 사설시조(辭說時調)와 함께 동아시아 문화권 내에서는 이와 비슷한 시기 중국의 청대에도 시조(時調)라고 불리는 시가 장르가 존재하고 있어 주목된다. 대체로 시정 남녀의 사랑을 노래하는 경우가 많지만 그 외에도 매우 다양한 소재들을 다루고 있다. 대다수가 작자미상의 작품으로 민간에서 유래하고 성행하였으며 언술방식과 표현에 있어서도 구어체를 사용하고 있다. 아울러 반복과 나열 어법의 사용을 통해 풀이성을 극대화하는 사설시조와도 유사한 형식적인 자유로움을 보여주고 있기도 하다. 뿐만 아니라 같은 동아시아 문화권에 속하므로 사회 경제적 상황 및 사상적 배경과 같은 외적인 측면에서도 밀접한 관련을 맺고 있는데, 특히 상공업이 발달한 도시의 시정 및 유흥공간을 근간으로 하고 있다는 점에서 공통점이 있다. 하지만 구체적인 작품의 형식과 주제적 지향 면에서는 비교적 뚜렷한 차이점도 존재한다.
하여 본고에서는 양국의 대표적 가집을 중심으로 청대 시조를 비교하여 우선 언술방식과 주제적 지향 면에서의 공통점과 차이점을 살피고 그 의미를 분석하였다. 이 글에서는 먼저 장르적 유사성과 소재적인 공통성 및 시대적 성격에 주목하여, 이를 중심으로 문학적 유사성과 변별성을 비교하여 살피고 그 의미를 규명하였다. 그리고 해당 시기의 큰 문화권 내의 흐름 속에서 고찰하여 민족어시가가 내재된 미학적 특징도 조망해 보았다.
비교를 통해 살펴본 대로 사설시조와 청대 시조는 비록 일부 차이점이 존재하지만 대체적으로는 여러 가지 측면에 있어서 다양한 공통점이 존재한다는 것을 알 수 있었으며 현실적인 차원에서의 미감을 공유하고 있음을 실감하게 된다. 비록 각자 다른 민족언어로서 작품화 하였으나 결국 여러 가지 비슷한 양상을 보였고 차이점도 나타났지만 이를 통해 볼 때, 공동문어문학 외에도 문명권의 동질성을 보여주는 작용을 하였을 뿐만 아니라 해당 두 장르가 성행한 시기 양국의 문화적인 특징도 고스란히 담아냈다.
이러한 지점에 국한시켜 본다면, 사설시조와 청대 시조는 동류의 성격이 강한 시가라는 사실을 규명할 수 있으며, 동아시아라는 특정 공간을 무대로 함께 성장한 독특한 시가장르임을 알 수 있다.

영어초록

During the late Joseon dynasty, a kind of Korean vernacular poetry called Saseol-Sijo, formed and became to contribute to expressing the unique ideas and emotions of Korea.
Interestingly, it is a remarkable fact that in the East Asian culture sphere, there is a poetry genre also called Sijo in the China’s Qing Dynasty. Love between men and women of the market places is often explored. Besides, there are a lot of other themes too. Most of them are works of unknown authors, and they were performed and handed down among people. In expressions, this genre uses quite a few spoken form and dialects. In addition, in terms of the freedom of the form, the Chinese Sijo have much in common with Saseol-Sijo which by using the expression of repetition and enumeration to maximize the extensibility. Besides, because Korea and China are belong to the same East Asian culture sphere, they are closely related to each other in terms of their socioeconomic impacts and ideological backgrounds. In particular, there is a common point which these two genres both have a strong foundation in the market places of the industrial and commercial cities and entertainment spaces.
So in this paper, by doing the comparative research between the Korean Saseol- Sijo (focusing on the representative works which are Chungguyungeon and Haedonggayo) and Chinese Sijo in Qing Dynasty (focusing on the representative works which are Nishangxupu and Baixueyiyin), the author found the similarities and differences between them and explained their meaning. In this article, firstly the author paid attention to the similarity of the genre, the community of the material, and the spirit of the age. Focusing on these, the author investigated the similarities and differences in literature between them and explained their meaning. And then, with extending the thesis to the socioeconomic impacts and ideological backgrounds of that period, the author analyzed the thesis in the East Asian culture sphere, presented a panorama of inherent aesthetic characteristics of this poetry genre, and put forward the new views.
Though the comparative research between the Korean Saseol-Sijo and Chinese Sijo in Qing Dynasty, the author found that there are many similarities in various aspects between them and they sharing aesthetics on a practical level too. If we limit it to this point, we can find out that the similarity between the Saseol-Sijo and Chinese Sijo in Qing Dynasty is so strong that they could be regarded as the same genre. Besides, the genre could be described as a unique poetry genre growing on the stage called East Asian in the rapidly changing times.
