청소년의 자기 이해 신장을 위한 교육과정-수업-평가 사례 연구 (A Case Study on Curriculum-Instruction- Evaluation for Increasing Self-Understanding Among Adolescents)

초록

이 연구는 중･고등 대안학교 사례를 들어 청소년의 자기 이해 신장을 목적으로 한 교육과정-수업-평가의 상을 모색하고자 한다. 그동안 국어교육과 미디어 교육에서 자아 정체성 탐색, 자기 이해를 목적으로 한 글쓰기나 영상 제작하기 등의 활동이 이루어져 왔다. 그러나 대부분 단편적인 교육활동이어서 자기를 총체적으로 바라볼 만한 충분한 계기는 되지는 못했다.
D학교의 주제 연구 과목 사례를 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째 주제 연구 과목 수업에서는 주제 선정의 과정을 자기 탐색과 이해의 과정으로 연결한다. 자신을 드러내는 정도는 학생의 선택에 맡긴다. 표현 장르는 학생의 선택에 따라 다양하지만, 글쓰기와 미디어 리터러시를 기본으로 한다. 둘째 수업의 진행 과정에서는 교사들, 친구들과의 대화로 지속적인 협력 관계를 만든다. 셋째 자기 이해를 위한 교육활동에서 결과물을 공유하는 방식 및 평가는 서열화를 피해야 한다. ‘이수/미이수’로 평가하고, 기록의 형태로 남긴다. 평가에서 가장 중요한 과정은 공동체에서 공유함으로써 공감이 이루어지도록 하는 것이다. 이 연구의 교육적 의의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이 연구에서 제시한 사례는 공교육에도 표준화된 국가 수준의 교육과정과 교과 지식 위주의 평가를 하지 않아도 되는 과목과 진로 수업에 활용할 수 있다. 둘째, 청소년이 개인으로서 자신을 어떻게 인식하고 성찰하도록 할지에 대한 하나의 방법을 제시한다. 셋째, 자기 이해의 결과가 자서전적 회고나 비약된 진로직업 선택 소개로 한정되지 않고 자신에게 의미 있는 새로운 무엇을 생산해내는 과정으로 연결될 수 있다. 이를 토대로 타인을 이해하고 타인과 소통하며, 시민으로 성장하기 위한 기반을 마련할 수 있다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to search for that increases self- understanding among adolescents by employing examples from alternative middle and high schools. Korean language education and media education has taken place with activities such as discovering self-identity, writing for the purpose of self-understanding, and producing images. However, the majority of these activities are fragmentary and thus have been unable to serve as an adequate impetus for holistically contemplating oneself. Also, it was easy to remain superficial because of a risk of revealing one’s inner-side.
This study analyzed D Alternative school’ subjects of integrated research and deduced the following implications. First, we link the topic-selection process with the process of self-discover and understanding in integrated research subjects. The degree of self- disclosure was a choice left to the students. Expressive genres vary based on the students choices, but are based on writing and media literacy. Second, continuous cooperative relationships of conversation and consultation are created with teachers and friends during instruction. Third, methods for sharing and evaluating results in the educational activity for self-understanding should avoid ranking. This is evaluated as course completion/non-completion, and teacher evaluations are saved in the form of a record. The most important process in the evaluations is the realization of empathy through sharing with the group. The educational significance of this study is as follows. First, the case presented in this study may also be applied to public education that do not require scoring based on standardized national curriculums and curriculum-based educational goals. Second, this study proposes a method for adolescents to recognize and reflect on themselves as individuals. Third, the results of self-understanding are not limited to autobiographical retrospectives or abandoned career choice, and can be linked to a process for creating something new and meaningful to oneself. With this as a foundation, we can create a basis for understanding others, communicating with others, and growing as a citizen.
