초록

I had a research on the Time-Recognition of King Yeongjo by dividing periods of time: past, present and future in his writing. The scene of recollection was fixed on the special time point when events happened. His recognition of the past was full of the royal family history, showing a very personal concept.
I had reconstituted his works based on his personal history and as a result, the background of his works was related with his father, King Sukjong(肅宗); the queen consort, Inwon(仁元王后); his mother, Sukbin Choissi(淑嬪崔氏); his elder brother, King Kyengjong(景宗); his sister-in-law and the queen consort, Seoneu(宣懿王后); his early dead son, Hyojang Seja(孝章世子); and his grandson, King Jeongjo(正祖).
The key connection with King Yeongjo's past and present were the Ten Heavenly Stems and the Twelve Earthly Branches(干支). There are sixty combinations and its designation comes once every sixty years, sixty months, sixty days, and sixty two-hour periods. Consequently, they had big effect on the connection of his past and present.
The writing date and place were marked at the end of his works. The writing date has a word showing how King Yeongjo thought about the present as well as one character from the Ten Heavenly Stems and one from the Twelve Earthly Branches(干支) that he though highly of. This fact shows how he made a comparison between the past and the present and his feeling on them.
King Yeongjo's recognition of the future was the world of tomorrow made by his grandson, King Jeongjo(正祖). He had written about education, lecture and request to his grandson. He hoped his grandson would keep up with the tradition of the royal family and figure out his aim.
