범용화 요소를 적용한 포장디자인 개발 -천혜향 포장디자인을 중심으로- (Development of Package Design Applying the Factors of Wide Use Elements -Focusing on the Package Design of Cheonhyehyang-)

초록

1인가구의 증가에 따라 생활패턴에 따른 상품과 서비스를 소비하는 싱글슈머(Singlesumer)가 등장했다.
싱글슈머는 소포장단위 상품의 요구하면서 소비유통시장에 큰 변화를 일으키고 있다. 또한 택배시스템의발달로 농식품 직거래가 활성되고 있다.
따라서 농식품 소비문화 변화에 따라 기존의 포장디자인의 개선이 시급하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 농식품 포장디자인의 경제성을 높이고 친환경적인 설계와소비문화에 맞는 포장디자인으로서, 선행연구에서 제시한 개념인 “농식품 포장디자인 범용화 요소”를 천혜향 포장박스 및 난좌에 적용하여 검증하고자 한다.
연구방법은 범용화 요소를 적용한 천혜향 포장박스및 난좌를 개발한 후 2단계의 실증연구(제주도 현장실증평가, 선호도조사)로 진행하였다. 개발한 포장디자인은 현장실증평가를 통해서는 사용자의 편의성과작업성을, 선호도조사를 통해서는 소비자의 구매성을조사하였다.
현장실증평가는 천혜향의 주생산지인 제주도 서귀포시의 농장에서 농업인 대표를 대상으로 진행하였다.
평가결과 선호도성⋅경제성⋅편의성 모두 긍정적인평가가 있었으나 복잡한 조립단계에 의한 개선사항을요구되었다. 선호도조사는 일반소비자를 대상으로 디자인선호도와 구매행태를 같이 조사하였다. 조사결과종이가 가장 친환경에 적합하다는 의견이 다수 나왔으며, 친환경 포장재⋅포장디자인에 대해 대체로 선택해야한다는 인식을 하고 있으나 중요성을 낮게 평가하였고 사용을 하고 싶어도 포장선택의 폭이 적다는것에 문제점이 있었다. 수용가능한 가격대는 500원～ 1000원 미만으로 조사되었다. 가격이 동일하게 가정했을 때는 친환경적인 소재와 활용도 높은 소포장이 중요요인으로 도출되었다. 디자인선호도는 기존 포장디자인에 비해 개발된 포장디자인이 더 높게 나왔다.
앞으로 농업인들의 고부가가가치를 높이기 위해 포장의 다양성을 현실화하고 개선시키려는 노력이 필요하다. 본 연구는 그러한 일환으로 지속가능한 관점에서 농식품 포장디자인 범용화를 적용하여 검증하는것에 의의를 가졌으며, 적용된 포장디자인이 경제성⋅ 사용성⋅환경성이 향상되었음이 검증되면서 현실적용가능성이 높아졌다. 향후 포장디자인 분야는 소비문화의 변화와 지속가능한 디자인의 관점에서 다양한 연구가 이루어져야할 것이며 본 연구에서 제시된 범용화 요소가 가치 있게 적용되기를 기대해 본다.

영어초록

As the number of single households is increased, Singlesumer who consumes the goods and services by lifestyle patterns has been appeared. Singlesumer causes significant changes in the consumer retail market demanding the goods with small packages.
In addition, direct trades of agricultural goods have been facilitated due to the development of delivery service system. Therefore, the improvement of the existing package designs is urgent according to the changes of agricultural goods consumption patterns.
Hence, this study aimed to apply and validate the suggested concept of “Wide Use factors for package design of the agricultural goods” in the previous study into the outer package and inner tray of Chunhyehyang, as the package design to enhance the economic efficiency and to fit in the eco-friendly design and consumption trend. The study was performed with two stages of practical researches including site practical assessment in Jeju Island and preference survey, after developments of outer package and inner tray applying the Wide Use factors. Convenience and workability of the users were investigated by site practical assessment and the purchasing capability of the consumers was done by preference survey for the developed package design.
Site practical assessment was conducted with the subjects of farmers in the farms located in Seoguipo City, Jeju Province, where is the major production area of Chunhyehyang. Upon the results, they rated positively to all the aspects of preference, economic efficiency and convenience, while some improvement areas were found in the complicated assembly step. With respect to the preference survey, it was conducted with the subjects of general consumers on the design preference and purchasing behaviors. Upon the survey results, multiple opinions were found that paper materials were the most appropriate in view of environmental aspect.
Most of them perceived well to have to select environmental friendly packaging materials and design while they rated the importance level as low, with the problem of limitation on the packaging choices although they tried to use. The acceptable price ranged from 500 to 1000 won. Environmental friendly materials and small package to be practical were deducted as the important aspects considering the same price. The developed package design was rated higher than the existing package design in terms of design preference.
It is necessary to try to realize and improve the package design to enhance the value of the agricultural industry. Therefore, this study has the meaning to apply the Wide Use of agricultural goods package design and validate it in view of sustainability, providing high probability to realize the application practices upon the validation results of improvements on economic efficiency, usability, and environment. Further studies on the package design are required in view of changing consumption patterns and sustainable design, and the suggested Wide Use factors are anticipated to be applied well in this study.
