북경 天橋 예술공간의 표상화 과정 (The Process of the Tianqiao Artisitc Space in Beijing Being Realized)

초록

2013년 12월 천교가 재건되었다. 80년 역사의 공백을 넘어 市井문화 광장이 다시 회복된 것이다. 천교의 재건과 이 일대 공연문화예술지구의 설립은 천교 100년을 향한 문화 북경의 새로운 中軸線을 만들기 위함이다.
천교는 황제가 天壇과 先農壇의 제천 의식을 위해 지나는 다리에서 붙여진 이름이다. 이후 지역을 대표하는 이름으로 고착되면서 시장과 공연문화의 무대로 유명세를 더했다. 雜技, 空竹, 曲藝, 武術, 評書, 相聲, 大鼓 등의 기량이 뛰어난 才華가 전국에서 우후죽순으로 모여 들어 천교는 예술의 각축장이 되었다. 척박한 환경에도 불구하고 이들이 빚어낸 演藝의 精髓는 중국 문화의 우수성과 독자성을 확보하면서 전통 문화의 메카로 성장했다. 천교는 잡기, 演藝人의 요람으로, 북경 문화의 精髓이며 민속․문화예술의 발원지가 되었다. 중국 정부 또한 천교와 이 일대의 역사적인 주요 문화 광장을 현대적 의미로 환원, 계승해 ‘12.5’ 문화사업 정책의 지속적인 명맥을 잇고자 한다.
淸末 신해혁명, 民國시대, 신중국 건립에서 문화혁명까지 천교는 문화 중국의 명맥을 굳건히 유지했다. 천교는 자연 발생의 시정 문화 외에도 황실, 귀족과 사대부들에게 옷과 신발 등 주요 생활용품을 제조, 공급하면서 특화된 시장 기능도 담당했다. 청말 민국초기 천교는 이 일대 廟會와 더불어 상업과 오락 중심의 복합 문화공간으로 발전할 수 있었다.
2009년 북경시정부는 성남가속발전행동추진계획推進城南加快發展行动計畫을 정식으로 공표했다. 2011년 10월 북경 西城區는 ‘공연예술지구’ 건립 계획을 추진하며 전통문화 회복과 문화 공간 확장을 위한 구체적인 플랜을 제시했다. 2012년 6월 20일 서성구는 국가오페라하우스, 중국대외문화기업 그리고 19개 京演예술단체와의 협의를 통해 천교공연예술지구 설립에 전격 합의했다. 공연예술지구는 예술총본부, 문예연출, 문화전시, 휴식체험 등의 기능을 담당하는 국제수준의 문화 광장을 조성한다는 것이다. 2015년 올해가 바로 그 완공의 해이다. 천교 문화예술공간의 설립은 낡고 낙후한 저층 기반 시설을 교체해 도시의 실용성과 이미지 개선의 필요성을 우회적으로 선회하는 그 이상의 의미를 지닌다. 문인의 문화, 시장의 문화, 廟宇의 문화, 공연의 문화가 모여 북경 문화 공간에 새로운 전통 공간을 재창조하기 위한 공정이다. 물론 이 같은 노력과 계획이 천교의 예술적 가치와 의미를 일깨우고, 전통 문화공간으로서 시민의 지속적인 소통을 이끌어 낸다면 매우 성공적인 사례가 될 것이다.
‘百年天橋 天橋百年’이 가까운 미래에 와 있다. 따라서 80년 시공을 초월에 새롭게 창조된 전통 문화 광장이 융합과 소통의 기회를 열어갈 지는 북경 도시 문화 공간의 예술적 의미와 수준을 가늠하는 바로미터가 될 것이다.

영어초록

In December 2013, Tianqiao was reconstructed. It was the time when an urban culture plaza was recovered after 80-year absence. Reconstruction of Tianqiao and establishment of the performance culture art district are to build a new axis of Cultural Beijing toward the centennial celebration of Tianqiao.
Tianqiao is the name given to the bridge the Chinese emperor had to cross to hold the heaven-worshiping rite at the Altar of Heaven and the Xiannong Altar. Then, it became the name of the district of a market and performance art. Numerous talents superb in various techniques and arts such as circus, diaobolo, martial arts, pingshu, shangsheng, dagu gathered here from all corners of China, and Tianqiao became to the place of competition of arts. The arts and techniques they performed here led this district to secure excellence and uniqueness of Chinese culture, and grow to be the mecca of traditional culture. The district became to be the cradle of performance art and acrobatics, essence of Beijing culture, and the origin of folk culture and art. The Chinese government also tries to take over the tradition of the cultural plaza of Tianqiao and the district, and include it as part of the ‘12.5’ Culture Project.
Over the history from the end of Qing Dynasty, Xinhai Revolution minguo period, founding of the New China, to Cultural Revolution, Tianqiao maintained its tradition of Cultural China. In addition to providing an urban culture, Tianqiao also played the role of a specialized market which manufactured and supplied major daily items for the royal family, aristocrats and government officials. Around the time of the end of Qing and the early Mingook period, Tianqiao developed as a complex cultural space of commerce and entertainment, together with miaohui.
In 2009, the Beijing Municipal Government announced the Accelerated Development Action Project for the chengnan Area In October 2011, xichengqu Beijing, while promoting the plan to establish ‘Performance Art District’, announced a concrete plan for the recovery of traditional culture and expansion of cultural space. On June 20, 2012, xichengqu made an agreement with the National Opera House, China External Culture Corporation, and 19 Art Groups to establish the Tianqiao Performance Art District.
The Tianqiao Performance Art District is supposed to a world-class cultural plaza providing the functions of art center, art performance, art exhibition, and leisure, etc. In 2015, it will be completed. The culture and art space of Tianqiao has the meaning beyond the necessity of improving the old and outdated infrastructure to fit the practical use and new image of modern Beijing. It is the process in which culture of scholars, culture of market, culture of miaohui, and culture of performance are collected, and a new traditional space is recreated in Beijing. If such efforts and plans awaken artistic values and meanings of Tianqiao, and stimulate continuous communication among citizens as a traditional cultural space, it will be a very successful case.
‘One Hundred Years Tianqiao, Tianqiao One Hundred Years’ will be realized soon. Whether the traditional cultural plaza newly created after 80 year absence will open an opportunity of convergence and communication will be a barometer measuring the artistic meaning and level of urban cultural space of Beijing.
