5종의 고등학교 음악교과서에 수록된 창작국악곡 분석 및 발전 방안 모색 (Analysis and Development Plans of the Newly Composed Korean Music Pieces Included in 5 Types of High School Music Textbooks)

초록

창작국악에 대한 교육은 학생들에게 국악이 옛 음악만이 아니라는 점을 이해시키고, 우리 전통 음악을 바탕으로 새롭게 창작된 현대 국악곡들이 존재한다는 사실을 알릴 수 있다는 점에서 교육적으로 중요하다. 이에 본고는 고등학교 5종 음악교과서를 중심으로 교과서에 수록된 창작국악 관련 내용을 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 창작국악에 대해 학생들에게 효과적으로 학습시킬 수 있는 창작국악 관련 학습 방안을 제안하였다.
5종 고등학교 음악교과서에 소개된 창작국악 성악곡은 <난감하네>, <아름다운 나라>, <북천이 맑다커늘>, <어이 얼어자리> 총 4곡에 그쳐 창작국악 성악곡의 다양성을 이해하는데 부족한 점이 있었다. 창작국악 기악곡은 관현악곡 <프런티어>, <제주의 왕자>, <신뱃놀이>, <락락팔음>, <남도 아리랑>, <방황>과 중주곡 <길놀이>, <소멸의 시간>, 그리고 독주곡 황병기의 <침향무>, 모두 9곡이 수록되었다. 편성이 대부분 관현악곡에 치중되고 실내악과 독주곡에 대한 이해가 부족했다. 또한 창작국악의 개념에 대해 전통 악기와 서양 악기가 함께 편성되면 국악이 현대화된 것이라는 단편적인 설명에 그치고 있어 문제점이 드러났다.
본고에서는 창작국악을 창의적․융합적으로 감상하고 이를 통해 공동체 의식과 예술적 심미 의식을 함양할 수 있는 방안을 네 가지 면에서 모색해보았다.
첫째, 기존의 정가풍, 판소리풍의 성악곡뿐만 아니라 민요와 잡가 가창과 연관되는 창작국악 성악곡이 제시되기를 제안한다. 둘째, 창작국악의 개념 설명에 대한 근본적인 재고가 요구되며, 관현악곡에 치중되지 않는 다양한 편성과 다양한 양식의 기악곡이 제시되기를 제안한다. 셋째, 국악은 예로부터 심신의 건강과 안정, 공동체의 화합과 유대를 추구해왔기에, 국악 명상음악, 국악 치유음악, 국악 태교음악 등 다양한 국악 생활음악의 소개를 제안한다.
학교 음악 학습 현장에서 전통 국악에 대한 강조와 이해 못지않게 창작국악에 대한 이해와 감상도 중요하다. 이에 창작국악에 대한 학습 비중을 높이고, 창작국악에 대한 학생들의 긍정적인 인식과 공감대를 유도할 수 있는 다양한 편성과 양식, 다양한 장르와 융합된 현대적인 창작국악 작품들을 소개할 필요가 있다.

영어초록

Education on newly composed Korean music is educationally important in that it can help students understand that Korean traditional music is not just old music and inform that there exist modern Korean music pieces that have been newly composed based on traditional music. Therefore, this paper analyzed the contents related to newly composed Korean music in the textbooks, focusing on the five types of high school music textbooks, and based on the analysis, suggested a learning method that could effectively teach students about newly composed Korean music.
The vocal songs of newly composed Korean music introduced in the five high school music textbooks are only four songs, <Nangamhane>, <Beautiful Country>, <Bukchoni Malkdakeoneul>, and <Eoi Eoleojari>. They were insufficient in understanding the diversity of vocal pieces of newly composed Korean music. The Instrumental works of newly composed Korean music are a total of nine, including the orchestral pieces <Frontier>, <The Prince of Jeju>, <Sinbaetnori>, <Rakrakpaleum>, <Namdo Arirang>, and <Wandering>, the ensemble pieces <Gilnori> and <Time of Extinction>, and the solo piece <Chimhyangmu> by Hwang Byung-gi. Most of the arrangement was focused on orchestral music, and it lacked an understanding of ensemble music and solo works. Also, regarding the concept of newly composed Korean music, a problem was revealed through a fragmentary explanation that Korean music is modernized when traditional instruments are arranged with Western instruments together.
This study explored four ways to cultivate a sense of community and artistic aesthetics by appreciating newly composed Korean music in a creative and integrated manner.
First, it is proposed to present not only existing jeongga-style and pansori-style vocal music, but also newly composed Korean music pieces related to folk songs and japga. Second, a fundamental reconsideration of the concept of newly composed Korean music is required, and various arrangements and styles of instrumental music which do not focus on orchestral music are suggested. Third, since Korean music has pursued health and stability of mind and body and harmony and unity of the community, it is proposed to introduce a variety of Korean music for life, such as meditation music, healing music, and prenatal music, etc.
Understanding and appreciating newly composed Korean music are as important as emphasizing and understanding traditional music in the school music classroom. Accordingly, it is necessary to increase the portion of the newly composed Korean music learning and to introduce modern Korean music works in various arrangements and styles and fused with different genres that can induce students' positive perception and consensus on newly composed Korean music.
