<춘향가>창본의 극적 표현양상과 의미 (The Dramatic Expressional Aspect and Meaning of Chunhyang-ga Chang-bon)

초록

이 논문은 <춘향가>창본을 ‘판소리가 극적 갈등이 주를 이루는 희곡물’이라는 관점에서 표현문체를 살피되, ‘현장의 현재적 상황언어와 더늠에 의한 연행’, ‘장면의 확대와 극화’, ‘음악과의 융합과 강창’ 등과 관련된 극적 표현 양상과 극적 아이러니, 희극정신과 관련된 극적 표현 의미에 초점을 두는 동시에 현사회에서의 공연사적 위상을 검토한 것이다.
첫째, <춘향가>창본은 대상→본질의 사고전략→인식→의식→현상의 표현전술→실천→정서 등의 민속문화 소통장치가 유기적으로 작동할 때 인식대상을 표현하는 기능이 환기되고 의미가 부여된다. 그리고 현장의 현재적 상황언어와 더늠에 의한 연행, 장면의 확대와 극화, 음악과의 융합과 강창 등은 <춘향가>창본의 표현문체에서 나타나는 징표이다.
둘째, ≪김연수창본≫<춘향가>(이하 <김춘향가>)는 춘향과 이도령이 재회하는 기쁨을 더 크게 하기 위하여, 변사또 스스로 부끄럽게 하는 동시에 변사또를 화해의 장으로 끌어들이는 표현문체인데, 이는 ≪신재효본≫<춘향가>(이하 <신남창춘향가>)의 내용과 다르고, ≪오정숙창본≫<춘향가>(이하 <오춘향가>)의 내용과 같다. 이것은 <춘향가>창본의 언어적 표현이 갈등의 해소 부분에서 보는 것처럼, 현재적 관점에서 눈앞의 동작이나 상태를 나타내는 현재시제에 바탕을 두고, 현장적 관점에서 마치 현장에 있는 것 같은 느낌인 현장감에 바탕을 두며, 혼합적 관점에서 극적 구조에 의한 입체적 상황을 바탕으로 한다.
셋째, 소리판의 ‘극상황’에서 판소리광대, 판소리고수가 판소리창본에 대하여 인식하고 표현하는 양상은 극적 기능과의 관계에서 웃음으로의 조정과 대립의 약화 의미를 더해 희극정신을 구현해 주는 가치가 있다. 그리고 소리판의 ‘공연상황’에서 판소리광대, 판소리고수, 판소리관중에 대하여 표현하고 감상하는 양상은 공연적 기능과의 관계에서 연행으로의 겨냥과 조화의 강화 의미를 더해 극적 아이러니를 구축해 주는 가치가 있다.

영어초록

This study investigates Chunhyang-ga Chang-bon, by reviewing expressional styles in the dramatic view point of ‘a play which primarily consists of dramatic conflicts in Pansori,’ with specific approach to dramatic expressional aspects, such as ‘the performance by present situational languages of fields and stringing in two piles,’ ‘the expansion and dramatization of scenes’ and ‘the fusion with and narration of music,’ to the dramatic expressional meaning, related to ‘dramatic irony’ and ‘the spirit of drama,’ as well as to the status of performance history at modern society.
First, in case of Chunhyang-ga Chang-bon, functions which display cognitive objects are emerged and meanings are ascribed when folk cultural communication devices (object→thinking strategy of substance→recognition→consciousness→expressional strategy→practice→emotion) are operated on an organic manner, and ‘the performance by present situational languages of fields and stringing in two piles,’ ‘the expansion and dramatization of scenes,’ and ‘the fusion with and narration of music’ are signs which appear in expressional styles of Chunhyang-ga Chang-bon.
Second, the Kimyeonsu-Chang-bon of Chunhyang-ga (shortly, Kim Chunhyang-ga) is an expressional style in which Byeon Satto was characterized to be involved in the harmony scene in order to make the delight of reunition between Chunhyang and Lee Doryeong much greater, which is different from the Shinjaehyo-bon of of Chunhyang-ga (shortly, Shin Nam Chang Chunhyang-ga), and are same with the Ohjeongsuk-Chang-bon of Chunhyang-ga (shortly, Oh Chunhyang-ga). This means that, as seen in the resolution part, the linguistic expression of Chunhyang-ga Chang-bon lays its base on the present which shows near actions or states from the present perspective, on the sense of realism which provides a real feeling of being at the field from the field perspective, and on the dimensional situation by a dramatic structure which is followed from the compound perspective.
Third, the aspect that a Pansori gwangdae (vocalist) or a Pansori gosu (drummer) recognizes and expresses in ‘the drama situation’ of Soripan have values, by adding the meaning of changing into laugh and minimizing confrontation in the relationship with dramatic functions. More over, the aspect that Pansori gwangdae or a Pansori gosu, or Pansori audience expresses and appreciates in ‘the performance situation’ of Soripan bear values which establish a dramatic irony, by adding the meaning of aiming at performance and enhancing harmony in the relationship with performance functions.
