종법적 질서에서 향(向)을 통해 본 의절(儀節)의 방위관념 -『儀禮』에서 『家禮』로 이어지는 사인(士人)의 제례(祭禮)를 중심으로- (A Study on the Directional Concept of the Ritual through Direction[向] in the Clan Rule Order - Focus on the Ancestral Rites handed down from 『Yili』 to 『Jiālǐ』 for a Class of Scholar -)

초록

이 글은 『의례』에서 『가례』로 이어지는 사인(士人)의 제례가 종법적 질서로 통용되는 까닭을 천문(天文)의 질서양상인 향(向)의 의절에서 밝히는 데 그 목적이 있다.
의례가 의식의 조합이라면 의식은 방위로 구조되는 의절의 총합이다. 이 때문에 의례연구는 의절에 따른 그 형식에 주목하지 않을 수 없다. 의절이 의식의 의미를 밝히는 근거라면 의절에서는 방위로 구성되는 형식을 고찰할 필요가 있다. 이런 까닭에 구체적인 의절에서 종법적 질서를 밝히려는 이유는 대개의 방위 의절이 음양론이나 종법으로 해석되기 때문이다.
현재까지 본고의 선행연구가 방위를 역상수시의 관점으로 해석할 수 있었던 원인은 의례를 음양론 이전의 천문현상을 본뜬 자연질서의 관념으로 파악하였기 때문이다. 십삼경주소가에게 음양은 의례의식을 종법적 질서로 여기는 하나의 해석학적 방법론으로 보인다. 다만 그들이 종법의 질서 관념을 음양으로 인식하였다면 의절의 어떤 관점에서 비롯되었는지를 묻고자 한다. 이에 제례의 의식절차에서 향(向)을 통해 그 방위관념을 살핀다면 역학의 다각적인 관점에서도 해명이 필요하다.
이 글의 문제의식은 전통의례에서의 의절을 종법적 질서로서 해석하는 그 실체가 모호하다는 점에 있다. 이를 위해 의례의식에서 종법의 근거가 의절 형식에서 검토된다. 예서에서의 방위 의절은 이미 자연질서로서 논의되었고 종법이 음양(론)으로 해명된다면 종법적 질서와 방위 관념의 관계는 향(向)의 의절을 통해서 밝혀질 것이다.

영어초록

The purpose of this article is to reveal the reason why the rituals of a class of scholarship(士人), from 『Yili』 to 『Jiālǐ』, are used as a general order in the ritual of direction(向), a form of order in astronomy.
If rituals are a combination of rituals, rituals are the sum of rituals structured by the direction. For this reason, ritual research cannot help but pay attention to the form according to the rituals. If the ritual is the basis for revealing the meaning of consciousness, it is necessary to consider the form of structure in ritual. the reason for revealing the clan rule order in a specific ritual is that it is usually interpreted as a yin and yang theory or a clan rule order.
Until now prior researches in this article has been able to interpret direction(方位) from the perspective of 曆象授時(It is to observe the tables and measure the time and distribute them to the people) because rituals were identified as the idea of natural order modeled after astronomical phenomena before yin and yang theory. To the 13 classical interpreters, yin and yang theory seems to be an hermeneutic methodology that considers ritual consciousness as a clan rule order.
However if they recognized the concept of the clan rule order as yin and yang, I would like to ask from what point of view of the righteousness they considered it as a clan rule order. Therefore it is necessary to explain from various perspectives of the interpretation and dynamics of the scriptures through the directional rituals in the ancestral ritual.
Since rituals are a combination of ceremonies and rituals are the sum of rituals designed by direction(位方), ritual research cannot help but pay attention to the form of rituals according to rituals. Therefore, rituals become a clue to reveal the meaning of ceremony. The reason why this study tries to reveal the clan rule order in a specific ritual is that it is interpreted as a model modeled after the natural order, whether it is yin or yang, and all are used in the same ritual form.
I think there are some problems with the nature of interpreting ancestral rites as the dominant order of the clan in traditional rituals. To solve this problem, the basis of the clan rule order in the ritual ceremony is reviewed in the form of ritual. The directional rituals in the ceremonial scriptures has already been reviewed as a natural order and if the clan rule is explained by yin and yang, the relationship between the clan rule order and the directional rituals will be revealed through direction(向).
