질 들뢰즈의 ‘차이’를 기반으로 한 공간의 비표상성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Non-Representational Characteristics of Space Based on the ‘Difference’ of Gilles Deleuze)

초록

(연구배경 및 목적) 과거와 현재, 그리고 미래로 나아가는 시간의 흐름 속에서 공간 디자인은 지속적으로 변화하며 성장하고 있다. 또한, 공간은 유기체적 존재이며, 주변과의 다양한 연계성을 가지고 확장하고 있다. 본 연구는 새롭게 생성되는 여러 공간들이, 표상적 관점으로 복제되는 것이 아닌, 기존 공간과 차이를 갖는 비표상적인 공간으로 생성되어야 함을 이야기하고자 한다. 이에 질 들뢰즈의 철학 중 ‘차이’를 기반으로 한 비표상적 공간 가치를 정립하여, 향후 공간디자인의 방향성을 개선시키고, 다양한 변용이 이루어지는 콘텐츠 중심 공간이 생성되도록 돕는데, 그 목적이 있다. (연구방법) 본 연구는 질 들뢰즈의 차이와 생성의 관점을 기반으로 하여, 비표상적 가치 체계가 앞으로의 현대 공간의 디자인적 해법을 제시할 수 있음을 점검하는 연구이다. 선행 연구를 통하여 비표상적 가치 체계의 공간 특성 요소들을 점검하고, 이를 토대로 공간 디자인 분석의 프레임을 구성하였다. 또한, 이를 토대로 사례 대상 공간을 분석하여, 이의 결과로서 공간디자인 분야에서의 비표상적 가치 체계의 유효함을 검증하고자 하였다. (결과) 공간 디자인의 비표상적 가치 체계에서는 형태적, 연출적, 사건적 측면이 내포된 공간이 중요하다는 것을 선행 연구를 통해서 알 수 있었다. 때문에, 비표상적 도시 공간 속에서 형태적, 연출적, 사건적 측면이 내포된 공간 디자인 사례를 선정하여 연속적 공간성, 시간의 내재성, 경계의 다양성을 기반으로 한 분석의 틀을 적용하여 사례 조사를 진행하였다. 그 결과 비표상적 사례 분석의 대상 공간들은 비표상적 개념 속에서의 공간 특성 요소들(연속성, 상호작용성, 이접성, 시간성, 비결정성, 가변성, 다양성, 다중감각성, 복합성)이 디자인 방법론으로써 유효한 가치임을 보여주었고. 이를 통해서 차이 생성적 공간이 향후 콘텐츠 중심 공간의 디자인 방향을 제고해 줄 수 있다는 결과를 도출하였다. (결론) 앞서 말한바와 같이, 공간은 유기체적 존재이고 다양한 가능성을 가지고 주변과의 관계 맺음 속에서 확장하고 있기 때문에, 앞으로의 공간 디자인의 방향성은 지속적인 생성이 가능하며, 인간을 위한 문화 지향적 가치를 내포하고 있어야만 할 것이다. 이를 위한 비표상적인 공간 개념은 무의식적이고, 비구축적이고, 차이 생성적 공간의 담론 가치이다. 비표상적 사유에 의한 공간 특성 요소 도출과 이의 도입을 통한 공간의 활성화가 근본적인 대안 공간을 제시할 수 있는 하나의 해결 방법론이 될 수 있음을 연구, 제안하고자 한다.

영어초록

(Background and Purpose) In the past, in the present, and in the flow of time to the future, space design is constantly changing and growing. Space is an organic existence expanding with diverse connections to the surrounding environment. In this study, we intend to highlight that various newly-created spaces would need to be constituted as non-representational space different from conventional space, rather than being replicated from the perspective of representation. Thus, this study is intended to establish the non-representational space value based on the “difference”, a concept adopted from the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze, so as to improve the future course of space design and to assist in the creation of content-centric space that allows for the occurrence of various transformations. (Methods) This study examines if the non-representational value system is able to present design-based solutions for contemporary space in the future based on the concepts of difference and creation, notion in the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze. We looked into the spatial characteristics of the non-representational value system by referring to preceding studies, and, based on that, formed the frame for analyses of spatial design. On the basis of the results of these examinations, we analyzed the space of a targeted case with the intention of validating the application of the non-representational value system in the field of spatial design. (Results) From the results of a preceding study, we determined that morphological, presentational and episodic aspects in space are important considerations in a non-representational value system. In consequence of this determination, we selected cases of spatial design in urban space that contain morphological, presentational and episodic aspects and applied a framework of analysis based on continuous spatiality, temporal immanence and the diversity of boundaries. As a result, the spatial designs examined in a non-representational case analysis were found to have value as a design methodology with their focus on spatial characteristic elements (continuity, interactivity, discontinuity, temporality, non-nodosity, variability, diversity, multi-sensibility, complexity). Through these results, a conclusion was drawn that the direction of content-centric spatial design could be improved by difference-creational space in the future. (Conclusion) As mentioned earlier, the space is an organic existence that has various possibilities, and the space expands with diverse connections to its surroundings. The direction of future spatial design should be able to be generate continuously and contain culture-oriented value for humanity. The concept of non- representational space has discourse value in questions of unconscious, unstructured, and difference-creational space. This study is intended to investigate and propose a solution methodology able to provide fundamentally alternative space rendered by stimulation through derivation and the introduction of spatial characteristic elements based on non-representational reasoning.
