태권도학과 여학생의 전공선택동기와 졸업 후 진로에 대한 인식 (Female college Student’s Perception on Motive of Choosing Taekwondo as a Major and Career after Graduation)

초록

The purpose of this research is to figure out female college student's perception on motive of choosing Taekwondo as major and career after graduation. To achieve the goal of research, research participants are consist of 8 female college students currently enrolled in department of Taekwondo and depth interview method was used. The result drawn is as follows.
Motivation on choosing major of female college students attending Taekwondo department can be called as upper factor by two classifications. The frist upper factor is the experience of practicing Taekwondo and the second upper factor is the differentiation from male college students majoring in Taekwondo. Two upper factors on choosing major can again, divided into sub factors. Factors regarding the practice of Taekwondo are divided into three parts and those are first, learning Taekwondo by recommendation from family, second establishment of Taekwondo Poomsae competition and winning experience and third preparation procedure for future career.
And, perception on career after graduating as Taekwondo majored female college student is classified as two upper categories. The first category is possible job after graduation and the second category is the job actually desired by students. The first category again divided into sub categories which are first, possibility to become coach in female Taekwondo field and second possibility to enter special occupational cluster based on their Taekwondo expertise. In sequence, regarding the second category, it is divided into first Taekwondo player or coach and second coach/director in PE field.
Based on these results, department of Taekwondo needs to secure diversity in education curriculum to grant reasonable motivation to female students hoping to major in Taekwondo and assure sound career exploration after entering school.
