초록

이 글에서는 2000년대 이후 미당의 친일문학에 대한 논의들을 살피고 미당의 친일 문학에 자리하고 있는 그늘을 식민지 주체의 아이덴티티 수행이라는 맥락에서 파악해 보려 한다. 김재용은 미당의 자서전에서 한 대목을 길게 인용하며 당시의 친일행위가 주변의 현실에 세계사의 흐름에 대한 미당 자신의 판단에 기초한 자발적인 것이었음을 증명한다. 그의 논의는 해방 후 국민국가의 성립 이후 진행된 민족적인 것에 대한 추구를 어떻게 제국적인 것과 분리할 것인가에 대한 답변을 마련하고 있지 않다는 점에서 문제를 지니고 있다.
박수연은 미당의 동양적인 것이 식민지 말기의 친일적인 것과 분리되지 않는다는 입장을 보인다는 점에서 미당의 문학이 친일이라고 판정하고 있다. 그는 국민문학론을 제국 일본의 대동아공영권의 맥락에 일치시키는 작업만을 수행하고 있을 뿐 그 안에서 발생하는 여러 가지 차이와 분열에 대해서는 눈감고 있다. 미당은 시가 감성의 관문을 통해 나와야 된다고 보는 점에서 미요시의 주장에 공명하고 있지만, 미요시가 말한 국가적 비상시국에 촉진된 문학운동을 포함하여 모든 주의와 사상에 대한 시의 종속을 거부하고 있다는 점은 주목될 필요가 있다.
미당은 「마쓰이오장 송가」에서 제국 일본의 전투에 참전하였던 조선 사람 인재웅의 이야기를 자기 시의 영원성과 전통의 맥락으로 끌어온다. 그것은 제국에 의해 구성된 국민의 아이덴티티를 자신의 것으로 삼는 것이면서, 동시에 수천 년 동안 전해 내려온 어떤 영생의 힘 속에 자신을 투신하는 것이기도 하였을 것이다. 이 수행이 불러온 대가가 작가들에게는 친일이라는 책임으로 돌아오고, 식민지 조선의 청년들에게는 일본인의 전쟁 책임을 조선의 지원병과 군속들이 함께 감당해야 했던 대가로 돌아왔다는 점은 기억할 필요가 있을 것이다.

영어초록

The purpose of this writing is to examine the discussions about Midang's pro-Japanese literature following the 2000s and to understand a shadow, which is positioned in Midang's pro-Japanese literature, from the context called the identity performativity of the colonized subject. Kim Jae-yong proves that the pro-Japanese behavior in those days was voluntary on the basis of Midang's own decision on a flow of world history in the surrounding reality while lengthily quoting one passage in Midang's autobiography. His discussion is problematic in a regard of not arranging an answer to how a pursuit for the ethnic thing, which was progressed after the establishment of a nation state after the liberation, will be differentiated from the imperial thing.
Park Su-yeon is judging that Midang's literature is pro-Japanese in that Midang's oriental thing is not separated from the pro-Japanese thing at the end of colony. He is just performing a work that makes the theory of national literature consistent with the context of the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere in Japan, but is turning a blind eye to many differences and divisions that occur inside it. Midang is sympathizing with Miyosi's argument in that Midang considers that a poem needs to appear through the gateway of sensitivity. However, there is a need to be paid attention to what Midang is refusing the subordination of poetry to all the doctrines and thoughts including the literary movement that was promoted in the national emergency situation mentioned by Miyosi.
Midang draws a story of a Chosun person In Jae-ung, who had participated in a combat of empire Japan in 「Masseuiojang Songga(松井 伍長 頌歌)」, into the context of eternity and tradition in his poem. It would be not only what has the identity of people, who were formed by the empire, as own thing, but also what throws himself into the power of any eternal life, which had been come down for thousands of years. There will be a need to remember that there was a return for being caused by this performativity to writers as the responsibility called pro-Japanese and that there was a return for both the volunteers and the civilians attached to the Army in Joseon to have needed to be in charge of the responsibility of war in Japanese people as for young people in colonial Joseon.
